Re: NCAA Football 13 Road to Glory Webcast Starting Now, Discuss Here
The issue with Reaction Time is that everything still seems to move at the same speed, it's just that everyone is slowed down.
Anyone that has played Red Dead Redemption knows about the Dead Eye Targeting where time slows down for the user but you have a noticeable advantage and are able to target your shots before it resumes to normal speed.
If there was some advantage to Reaction Time it would makes sense, but from what I've played in the demo and seen in the videos it just slows down normal gameplay for EVERYONE on the field - so you really can't do anything that you couldn't do playing at normal speed.Comment

I agree somehow that managed to not bother me as much last year. I really liked the HS stadium with the clock tower, but yes I agree I'm hoping they made the stadiums as generic looking as possibleComment

The purpose isn't to make you better, its only to help you see the field easier. For example, as a QB, you see the blitz coming. Use RT, you have a longer look at who to throw to right off the snap. As a RB, you are running in between the tackles, but your hole is filled. Use RT, it lets you observe the whole line without just running straight in to a tacklerThe issue with Reaction Time is that everything still seems to move at the same speed, it's just that everyone is slowed down.

I hope someone asks them why custom Quarters hasnt made it to RTG yet in the podcast.
Not having it in, really makes me not want to play it before dynasty let alone after the rosters are outComment

Reaction Time seems to be based off the idea that time seems to slow down for some people during adrenaline rushes. It really isn't that unrealistic of a feature.Fluttershy is the best pony.

Yeah I guess it depends, irl it isn't something that triggers. I have felt "the game slow down" on the basketball court in real life but that was once I got used to being on the court in a game setting. Not sure if I like it in a football simulation but then again it doesn't mean I have to use it.

It seems like it happens easier in sports like soccer and basketball where your vision isn't restricted. I know it happened for me in basketball a lot. As a PG you start predicting where your teammates will go and it just seems like your in a zone making pin-point passes. There's no better feeling IMO.Yeah I guess it depends, irl it isn't something that triggers.
