I haven't ever. But I don't care about that stuff, but I understand that others do, so I will support the cause to bring it back.Comment

Its becoming evident that CCM is a mode that isn't going to be about user customization at all. Why is customization and immersion being treated as seperate entities. The Show and NBA 2K's career modes are both immersive and full of customization options.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
From an networking IT type perspective, I see it this way:
They used this year as an opportunity to increase centralization of the code and management of the whole set of features. It's a year to consolidate, while also allowing them to scale some development across user groups.
But the sacrifice was they reduced user (player) profile customization and control. They knew they were doing this.
That doesn't mean they don't hope to add more customization back from the centralized development platforms in future years, especially as console technology goes nextgen. But they knew they were going to take this hit this year and they're hunkered down to ride it out, for this year at least.
Before everyone gets after me, no I don't like it. I'm not excusing, just offering a possible understanding. First rule in network IT when you roll out upgrades across an enterprise is : don't reduce the user experience by taking away things they are used to. Even if the majority don't use it, the outcry will be intense, swift and sustained.
And that's what we're seeing.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
as I have said before MLB the show is the greatest game in sporting history because of all the customisation you can do. you can even play AAA games you can play every single god dam game of the season if you wanted to. What even makes it more impressive is you can edit injuries!!! I will continue to buy MLB every year if they just keep upgrading things (what they need now is create a player in franchise mode and fix the playoff system)
Hell MLB the show has franchsie mode Season mode and RTTS wow!!!! and just play now. what has madden got now???? ohh CC mode and play now big woooop 2 modes??? you cant tell me that 'they didn't have time' what a load of crap all they needed to do was add in CC mode improve the gameplay etc and keep the other features from past maddens.
I bet CC mode we are some generic random fake player too (wait for that to be annonuced and another 40 page thread) and lets say we are a QB in New England instead of being Tom Brady.
all madden had to do was add that option change the gameplay add a few new bells and whistles improve some presentation. etc.
but no they cut 9 features out completley no customisation at all, I can't beleive they don't understand how important customisation is for a sports game.. wait yes I do becaue they want to have it in their hands so that we have to buy madden every year and cant customise it the way we want.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
REALLY.
Why do you some people defend EA by saying "It's a limited cycle, things might not make the cut, they are fusing it to add more in the future etc.".
I'M NOT SURE IF SOME OTHER SPORTS GAME DO THIS.
Look at NBA 2K10-12. Have they really deleted any type of features game mode wise? Have they had to make any "final cuts"? Have they ever taken out a feature because it didn't work well?
SERIOUSLY.
I know some of you don't use some of the features that were taken out, but notice that they were OPTIONAL. EA is removing the little things that we liked or have liked in Franchise mode this year, or for years. The RTP will be good, but of course, they haven't fixed the bad running animations that have been there for years, along with the footplanting issues, the o-line d-line, the passive WR's/WR & DB issues, etc.
The CC could've remained it's own feature that should have been implemented in M14 so they could improve franchise mode current by bringing back some features from old-gen/other next gen maddens that had potential, but if course, the only way they can add stuff to the three main modes (Franchise, Superstar, Online Franchise) is by fusing them, and sacrificing features that some of us liked in order to put stuff in that (at least in my honest opinion) don't really outweigh the negatives, at all.
But you get the point.Comment

you missed the point, they'll add them next year and tout them as new... thats the joke he was making. I have no doubt these features will be in next year after the response taking them out has gotten but it would be totally EA if they tried to tout them off as new features.Comment

Wouldn't that just cater to the whole one step forward, three steps backwards statement that everyone so desperately wants to be rid of?Comment

The standard 'we didn't have time to put it in and maybe later' exuse from EA is getting pretty boring. From an networking IT type perspective, I see it this way:

If you are a Boss at work and you want to upgrade the entire office and you force every single one of your employers to use and work the same way and change eveyr single thing that some of them have been used to for 20 years how would that look?
They should not have released this game this year kept working on it til it was ready. if that was really their legit exuse.
I have never ever known another gaming company to say 'we didn't have time maybe later" They should just be honest and say it's not coming back $$$ is all that's on their mind which is why they have a standardized answerComment

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
With all do respect, how in the hell does anyone have time to play 16 games a week for 17 weeks? Seriously I mean where does the time come from? How many seasons could you play and why would you want to play every game? It's amazing to me! I am not calling people out but to me, that is just flat out nuts.PSN: jclentzthadonComment

They'll bring them back but I have a hard time believing it will be anymore hyped than full player editing was last year. A quick two sentence mention in a huge blog.you missed the point, they'll add them next year and tout them as new... thats the joke he was making. I have no doubt these features will be in next year after the response taking them out has gotten but it would be totally EA if they tried to tout them off as new features.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
@Strawhat have any of those had a franchise mode as stale as madden's? have any of those completely rebuilt their franchise, superstar, and online modes? i don't like them taking the features and haven't decided if im gonna get it yet, but i understand their logic of getting a working mode into the game with features that work for offline and online before adding ones specific to either.
the foundation is now there to add those features back and even add new ones easier than before. its easier and more efficient to keep up one code base than three.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
I had to think back to OOTP between 6 and 7 when Markus did the grand redesign that brought the foundation of what OOTP is now.
The UI and everything got totally jacked around, and it was a great adjustment period, but no, there was no loss of features.
Now, granted, he's the only one who ever touched his code (that's the real problem with EA - they can't just leave one person in charge who knows the code, so it gets jacked around to whoever is doing it. I bet if there's another teams after Looman and co. moves on - it probably will be another "redesign"), so it's not a direct correlation, but nothing was lost from OOTP6 to 7.
I can't think of any other sports game that's had a massive redesign that I played enough to really make an intelligent observation on. Most sports games seem to try to stay constant off a good base. Baseball Pro, Football Pro - they stayed largely stable.
Assuming that MMORPG is not the way the game is going towards, I do think stability will help in the long run."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment
