I honestly have to say that I am impressed with the new passing, and running feels better as well. Presentation wise, it still lacks something, but the menu fight song music that they always have make up for it. I'm actually really excited now about this game. This is a case of minor improvements really making a game feel significantly better. Is it perfect? No. Is it a step in the right direction? Yup. I love the new lead passing with the left analog stick. I completely suck with RG3 and I'm great with everybody else in the demo lol. Heisman will be a really nice feature too. I just wish I could get Matt Leinart without pre-ordering from GameStop. :/ June 10th can't come soon enough!

Forgot to add this.FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY! they added other penalties! I got two legitimate PI calls! Thank goodness this is finally in the friggin game! Penalties and passing are two standalone reasons to go upgrade to 13. I'll have a good ol month to play this before I head off to college. I'm giddy! I just wish Kmart had a preorder bonus like Gamestop, because I work there lol. But once again, I'm actually impressed by EA, and this is coming from a guy who vowed not to buy this after the first trailer which showed the gimmicky shuttle pass.

Intentional grounding never gets called ever, nothing new there. Dont even know why we bother turning that slider up to 100 im convinced they dont even have the audio for it in the game lol

You're absolutely correct. But the fact is, this is the only college football game that we are getting. This game should be as polished as MLB and NBA 2k. But considering how lazy EA has been, the improvements that have been made this year are nice. I'm just happy that the passing is actually really good. I've been a big anti-EA guy, and this game won't change that, but at least they made actual gameplay improvements, instead of gimmicky garbage. It feels like the jump from NCAA 10-NCAA 11. Let's just hope that they improve it even more next year instead of resting on the laurels like they did from 11-12. The game still has flaws, like presentations, animations, commentary etc, but they did actually focus on improving the core gameplay this year, and that is not something I initially expected when they showed the first trailer.

I've seen this mentioned a few times, so I thought I'd just point this out.


The NCAA had a rule change, so touchbacks are supposed to go to the 25, not the 20.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that this applies to kickoffs only; punts that go into the end zone will be brought out to the 20 as before.

You're right. I just saw people complaining that kickoff TouchBacks went to the 25, and I wanted to remind people that they should. Punt TBs still go to the 20, as they do in the demo.

Has anyone had the CPU run a 2 min offense on them in the demo yet ? Do they let you get back onsides before they snap the ball this year ?

Smart play by the cpu. They get a free play and stop the clock

After playing the demo so much, it has made NCAA 12 unplayable. In my two OD games I have played since playing the demo, I have throw seven interceptions; compared to two the first seven games of our third season. I find myself trying to make throws I am making in the demo thanks to the new passing trajectories but am throwing interceptions left and right. This alone is making NCAA 13 even more exciting for me.

After playing the demo so much, it has made NCAA 12 unplayable. In my two OD games I have played since playing the demo, I have throw seven interceptions; compared to two the first seven games of our third season. yeah lol i can't even get my self to play NCAA 2012 after the demo came out.

You can call it negativity all you want, those of us that have been around for a few years don't want to keep hearing "a step in the right direction". With all those steps, this game should be considered one of the best games of any kind, let alone a sports game. Instead, these steps are more like steps in sand. One step forward, two steps back. As far as being able to tell what the future has in store for us, best indicator of the future is the past, and EA has a shaky past with Ncaa. All that said, I will wait and see my fellow OSers reviews before considering buying 13.

Who cares. Some of the best NCAA games on the XBOX came out AFTER the 360 came out. I expect the same with the 360 and the Durango.

Sure he can, he can buy Madden 13 and he'll have a pretty good idea what NCAA 14 will look like. Beyond that, it is just common sense and critical thinking skills. NCAA 14's development will likely be centered solely around the infinity engine. I'd be surprised if we got ANYTHING other than that.

NCAA isn't rocket science. How many times in the last decade have we been blown away with unique, innovative new features? Once? Online Dynasty is the only one I can think of and is absolutely the best thing to ever happen to the series. Most of the time, the newest NCAA feature is coming off Madden from the previous year. Everything else is just smoke filled coffee house crap.

We're coming to the end of the line for the current generation of consoles, with it will come a new generation of games. Some series are in a good place to pick up where they left off for the next generation but NCAA is not. NCAA couldn't even figure out this generation.

By the time other games are working on the next generation of consoles, the NCAA series will just barely be putting out a complete game for the current generation. That will put NCAA behind the eight ball almost immediately and that is before development begins on a whole new game, which will almost assuredly be stripped down and basic, as Jersey said.

If EA was smart, starting for 2014, they'd have alternating development teams for both NCAA and Madden. It gives each team a two year development cycle to really make big strides while allowing a game to be sold every year all while leading up to year one of the next generation. But hey, what do I know right?
