Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
Wasn't there a big stink about this a few years ago? EA wanted players to use their servers, XBox Live wanted them to use theirs?Comment

^ This. Unfortunately, I think we here at OS comprise a small portion of the consumer base for Madden. Almost 70% of players here at OS said that they prefer to play offline. How does that measure up with the rest of the world? My guess is that it's smaller, and that's what EA is counting on.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
I am a pure offline player, i take my offline packers franchise seriously--like to the point of 20 years of virginity :P jk lol, but in all seriousness I was very excited for the cbs presentation (cbs being my fav broadcaster of the four), the new sound on my new stereo system. However, since discovering the death of offline franchise (which was mildly okay since it is just part of the CC) the death of import draft class (sucks but I guess id be the same as mlb 2k), but now not being able to play other games, if I dont make the playoffs or super bowl I always play those games anyway for the very fun of it. Not to be the over emotional typical madden *****, however, I will be sticking to Madden 12 for one more year, I guess theres always next year. EA lost one customer, but likely gained 30 customers that have never even touched a football in their lives :/Comment

Agree. I'm very excited about the new infinity engine, but I'm very down on what was done to the franchise mode.
We should be receiving a complete product, and one thing should not make us forgiving for what is wrong.
No matter how you look at this. Madden 13 really is a incomplete product.
It is also very unfair and selfish for some to say. "Well I don't use all 32 teams so I'm fine." The game is not made just for you, and you should consider others. This product is to cover many different gamers, and with what they did they only satisfied a small group.
No matter if it hurts you or not. We have to support each other, and make sure gaming companies give us a complete package. It's not going to hurt me as much as others, but I know deep inside this is wrong, and not fair at all for everyone.
I tend to focus on the bigger picture no just myself. If I did then I would be a self centered selfish person. That is not my style or who I' am. It feels good supporting others , and assisting in their needs. Some of you guys should consider trying it. In the end it will benefit us all.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

I guarantee you that there you will be able to purchase XP from the EA market or whatever they call it. And people will buy it. It won't be required, but it will most certainly be available.Comment

Have you seen the videos? It really is a step up to what was used before. They do not have us lined or whatever, there are some of us who are happy to get the changes we got and see that complaining OVER AND OVER is pointless as they are not gonna change anything. Say what you will, I still bet you buy the game.Comment

Wow... so much fail in here.Is everyone serious........No duh u wont be able to coach one team like the Cowboys and play Browns vs Patriots.... Why would this even be a problem????? If i coached the cowboys and the eagles play the 49ers or someone. I could just tank the eagles game so I can move up in the standings. I hope this post was all a joke...Comment

I just knew that Megatron would break the Madden Curse...
Only he sort of deflected it back into the actual game. D@mnit!I'm still playing NCAA 14 and Madden 25...and you know, it's alright.

I agree its an improvement, but you still see all the same tackles. It isnt rtp they just added a layer of physics to the old animations. There will be some wonjy moments like in FIFA. Also has anyome noticed how players just lay down for an awkward amount of time after they get tackled?Have you seen the videos? It really is a step up to what was used before. ? but isn't that how this "monumental change" happened in the first place?Have you seen the videos? It really is a step up to what was used before. Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yo
Good post. In my opinion, makers of NBA 2K and MLB The Show have tried to make consumers happy. EA is trying to improve its bottom line by trying to control the way we play.I've had a little while to think this over and present my argument and beliefs in the best way possible. Hopefully I've been clear and if no one reads this at least I can vent my feelings out through typing:
I remember a few years ago when MLB: The Show announced that they would let you control all 32 teams and all aspects of the game. They would even let you control who got injured and how long they were injured for. Here was the top baseball game in Video Games knowing what the people want. Some could argue MLB the Show is THE video game when it comes to sports.
NBA 2K realized what the people wanted. They gave you the power to control your NBA World however you wanted. They realized fans wanted the power to create their own NBA drafts and it was given. Here was the top basketball game in Video games knowing what the people want. Some could argue NBA 2K is THE video game when it comes to sports.
Now some of you can post and say these modes aren’t important or that you just don’t understand. You can say that you’re angry but in the end you’ll just live with it. The above mentioned franchises knew what was important and knew what the future of their games needed to have and I don’t think that can be stressed enough.
So here you have Madden who possibly beat both those games to the punch when it comes to franchise mode. You could finally edit players during the season; you could for the longest time already control all 32 teams. They didn’t let you edit your own NFL drafts but they at least had the NCAA Import feature which was not great but good enough for most. They had the chance, the opportunity to become the top sports game again, a sports game the NBA and MLB the Show probably tried to be like in some aspects, or at least once upon a time. Madden ’13 was going to be THE game once again, but it was going to be a lot of hard work. I feel like Madden put a lot of work into this game but at what cost? The cost obviously is a deleted franchise mode. Features that fans have known for years are gone and new features that were in Madden 12 are now lost as well. Also how much work did they really put in? Is a “Connected Careers” mode really a lot of hard work because it’s a new feature? Or was in the easy way out because Madden gave up the hard work that was needed to fix two features that were already there?
This isn’t a rant or a post full of anger, it’s a realization. Madden ’13 is the year of “Connected Careers” and I honestly hope everything works out perfect and that this mode is a huge success with no major flaws because if there is, there will only be a patch to fix it (if even possible), not the users of Operation Sports.
Put all of the modes together in order to get people online, where we can charge more for additional features. Oh, but if we move them all online, we have to limit their abilities to "cheat." Therefore, importing draft classes, editing rosters, custom playbooks, playing games other than your team's - all the things that are available to offline players, now must be eliminated to level the playing field.
I know I sound like Chicken Little, screaming about the sky falling, but I just have a sneaking suspicion that this is what we're heading for.Comment
