It actually makes sense given the depth of it it almost had to be this way for it to workGamertag: IceManFrost

I'm turned off, but still still on the fence. If the developers on twitter keep acting like immature kids getting called to the principles office, then I won't stay ob the fence much longer.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
Uh, some people like to share a franchise with their siblings/kids/cousins/other relatives, so taking away that feature could really hurt.Nope none of that affects me. Going to be one of the best years for Madden for me. Plenty of things I am really excited about, most of which is Franchise CC related.....and.....of course the gameplay improvements!!
I barely have time in my schedule to get through couple seasons playing as ONE team. I would never make it through 1 season if I played the other teams games also. I am like Dale, I see the complaints but don't understand how those would equal a NO BUY with all the other great inclusions.
The gameplay additions themselves don't fix the core Issues:
- O-line/D-line (Footwork, Blocking AI, Sucking into a Block)
- WR/DB (Passive WRs, DB's who will zoom quickly/go through or slide around a WR to make a play)
- Awful Footplanting
- Sliding
- Bad AI (Zone defense when a QB is running, CPU QB running wildly even when a guy is open, the CPU not adjusting to a certain defense, receivers often don't help extend the play.)
- Field proportions (Play Cover 2 against the Saints, and count how many comeback routes go out of bounds.)
- Bad Running Animations
- Bad Throwing Motions
- Bad Ball physics
Now,we also have a lack of emotion with the commentary, and a lot of the commentary I've seen in the E3 videos are not great most of the time.
Along with that, the player models are looking worse than ever in their own ways, whether it's the jersey numbers being TOO large, the hair looking off/like paper, the constant twitching and crazy movement after the play (some of that could be tuned, but the player cutscenes don't look good), the players not looking anything like themselves (Ryan Fitzpatrick, I feel you Bills fan), or Madden not even making the equipment right (Look at the "Primetime Football" cutscenes when the Quarterback folds his arms, then you'll see the shoulder pads... UGH!)
There's probably more, but these are some bad issues that need to be fixed.Last edited by StrawHat Patriot; 06-18-2012, 10:56 PM.Comment

Great for you that it doesn't effect you personally, but they are still features that were removed. Isn't that the point people are making? That these features are now missing?Comment

Makes offline rather pointless to me honestly. Happy to play NCAA 13 and look to what they will have ( or not have) included in M14
Just an absolute bonehead move to not allow even minor editing.
They really are making you play THEIR way overall.
It honestly doesn't matter how good the gameplay is if I can only be one team and have to leave it up to the CPU to manage their teams, which I am pretty confident will NOT be up to par.
Many say " so what?" but to that I say...
As long as your content with LIMITED features and options then the game will NEVER be what is SHOULD have been by now.
And I know he gets a lot of flak from some, but loomans decision is pretty puzzling as us his " little things" comment. That really turned me off.
If you can't take critical opinion, maybe your in the wrong position
And I will make a few predictions.
XP grinding will be a chore and many will opt for CPU handling it.
CC will be a bug filled affair.
CPU teams will have no clue layer in franchise mode leaving teams in a mess
And generated rookies will have moronic equipment and possess retired numbers and even end up with single digits.
Mark my words.
I smell madden 06 all over again

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
I made a decision years ago to never buy games that only allowed you to play your team's game in franchise, and the reason is simple--I never get my money's worth out of them. I'm the type of guy who likes to play my team's game, plus a couple others that look interesting in any given week. I do the same thing with baseball and NBA games. If I can't do that it Madden anymore, it becomes a weekend rental, simple as that.Comment

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
Not only has this game turned me off to Madden but also NCAA as well. I'm not a huge college football fan but I enjoy watching a game or two every Saturday along with playing the major match ups in NCAA Football. However since we can't import rookies there is no reason for me to pick up the game at full price, even with the discount.
Madden '13 might be a Black Friday at best but that's it.Comment

It hasn't turned me away. It has dampened my enthusiasm a little though. I really enjoy being able to get different rosters through roster share on NCAA football and Madden hasn't and won't let you do that. Not being a able to at least change players equipment and number in CC is just crazy. I am still looking forward to the game though. It is getting a little old that in this gen of Maddens they seem to add things that are great, only to take away things that are also great. I still don't get it.Comment

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
This one statement sums up exactly how I feel. No question I've been disappointed in the recent news, but I'll overcome.
Like I said in a recent post, I loved my 2K5 franchise. In it, I couldn't edit players nor could I play other games. But I loved it no less, and it's probably the most I've been immersed in a football game.
Not that we should be moving backwards, but the joy I experienced w/ my 2K5 franchise lets me know that I can enjoy my M13 CCM as well.
As an aside, I was salty when we found out we couldn't play other games in CCM (and to a degree I still am). But I'm buying into keeping things authentic and them really wanting you to be so & so's head coach. Long as I can change coaches every offseason or so to keep my experience fresh, I'll manage to get by.Comment

I think you will be able to just retire and come back .. not sure if you can just choose where you come back though ..This one statement sums up exactly how I feel. No question I've been disappointed in the recent news, but I'll overcome.
