Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
Well I cannot speak on behalf of roster makers since I dont use edited rosters in terms of ratings. I use what the game comes with but equipment is terrible in these rosters and I am willing to overlook roster editing for equipment if they allowed me to control my season.
Not being able to play other games on the schedule is a horrible decision and game breaking to ME
having friends come over and run a league of a few heads is not possible when it has always been.
We play to what the NFL is offering and EA wants us to play fantasy football with fake rookies and current players on other teams in future years.
That to me is a huge slap in the face for their dedicated customersComment

I feel you on the stuff you won't be able to do this year. They definitely hit some people really hard this year.Well I cannot speak on behalf of roster makers since I dont use edited rosters in terms of ratings. News flash: all rosters are fantasy. And that is why EA and Josh have geared the game towards customers like you. That dont care about anything but playing as a team and enjoying fantasy unrealistic rosters.
Hard Core fans want to be able to play SIM and have the ability to run the league based on the money they spend.
So be happy that EA is aiming for the casual fan.
Another one: just because someone doesn't edit rosters does not make them unsim or not hardcore.
End rant.

wow madden smh that 100 percent turned me off i love editing and i hate always being 1 team its boring to me.....i felt like they were going the right direction if they just kept it and added everything else there adding it would be fine but of course madden is being annoying and taking out things fans wanted which makes no sense and they are down grading themselves by doing it which makes no sense. Smh at madden i am dishearten about this decision because i love football but i guess im just gonna play ncaa 13 for the whole yr.Comment

Give me a break. Hardcore bad word to use then but SIM HEAD is more like it.
I personally feel that playing with fake named rookies and unrealistic rosters in future years is not SIM to ME.
But EA could have avoided this if they allowed a separate mode called season and also CC.
Not just do something for one side of the spectrumComment

News Flash: I never said I even played with edited rosters. My only issue with edited rosters is that we cannot edit numbers or equipment. I never touch ratings
But to not allow us to control the season is a huge turn off. Something every sports game has and Madden has always had yet they took it awayComment

I get that, but just because you play that way doesn't mean everyone else is wrong or a casual football gamer because they don't.News Flash: I never said I even played with edited rosters. My only issue with edited rosters is that we cannot edit numbers or equipment. I never touch ratings

This seems to get overlooked for some reason by some of the guys(New Gamers) talking about they only play with one team in there franchise and it doesn't bother them that this feature got removed.. They assume that everyone is only talking about controlling all 32 teams. They don't realize that alot of gamers play there offline franchise with family or friends and taking away Multi-Team control was a huge blow to some of us because we can't do that anymore..Well I cannot speak on behalf of roster makers since I dont use edited rosters in terms of ratings. Very disappointed. I will likely not buy the game because of this. I like to play with a fictional roster, somewhat created by myself. I will not be able to do this.
Good luck to EA. I have continually been disappointed by their decisions to make "closed"....."limited" games....if they make them at all (NBA Live, NCAA Basketball). EA has pretty much ruined the fun seasonal sports video games I thought would always be present in my life growing up.Comment
