Re: What Madden NFL 13 Connected Careers Gives, Takes Away and Might Have (Kotaku)
The mode is still functional w/o it. But to many people, not having it would be VERY UPSETTING. No multi-player in offline doesn't break the mode, but to many people, not having it is VERY UPSETTING. Same with no NCAA draft classes and no full editing. Things that have already been in the game. People have a right to be upset about this. We all should be upset about the continual redirection and foundation laying that gets ripped out the next year.
The excuses for this should stop. By now we should have a fully functional, full featured, customizable product. It's not. And this is what people are upset about. Man, it took all this time for ONLINE to even come close to what they should have had A LONG TIME AGO. Good for the online guys for finally getting what they deserve.
No XP or similar system to replace it would make the mode nearly pointless, it would be called connected seasons, rather than a career. FAR more important than anything from a previous game that was omitted.Last edited by mestevo; 06-14-2012, 01:56 PM.Comment

@bucky you can't have a game mode that is supposed to simulate multiple years of a sport without progression/regression.Comment

@DNMHIII he said core features make the game/mode work. you can run a franchise on madden 12 without using it at all. but you cant without using the off season features.Comment

To many, no NCAA drafts and no multi-player offline, no editing rosters to bring into CC and no CC editing makes the mode nearly pointless.Comment

I gotcha.....I'm defining core features as ones that are crucial to the foundation of the user experience and he was defining core features from a functionality standpoint only. I'm trying to place emphasis on user experience as I do believe that all design elements should really start and end with the user.Comment

Oh, well then we can do it with no punters, or quarterbacks, and remove the running plays!
Doesn't make much sense to me, but yes you can.
That's how silly that response is.Comment

Thats how EVERY SPORTS GAME WORKS. Just because they put out the latest roster doesn't mean it will update your in progress career.
its not a conspiracy... They made the game the way people have asked for it for years. I'm sorry if that doesn't fit the way you play. Having a functioning game mode is (IMO and many others) more important than being able to edit rosters.#LFC

Here we go again....Another "Ours is more important then Yours" Battle amongst Madden Fans
Meanwhile EA just sits back and laughs all the way to the bank
Im tired of them getting away with that approach to their game

@DNMHIII i agrees that it is supremely important to allow as much user control as possible. but they have to get the functionality stuff in before adding all the user control stuffComment

Silly to me is continually defending the redirection and removal of features. Silly to me is being 8 years or so on a console and we are still behind getting back features that existed 8 years ago. And they are still removing features. Silly is defending this.Comment

I'm sure customization is a core feature for Forza
And progression/regression is still fairly new to sports games and in most games it rarely works right YET the franchise mode still works!
Just check out these very Madden forums a look at all the people who complain about progression but STILL have people enjoying franchise mode.
So please, cut it out with the "this is more important than that"Last edited by Jukeman; 06-14-2012, 02:19 PM.Comment
