Roster Minimums in Madden 13
Has anyone at EA addressed roster minimums in connected careers? Hopefully they get rid of those as I'm tired of having to keep 4 tackles, 4 guards, and 2 centers when in the real NFL, most teams carry 7-8 OL on their 53 man roster. Not a deal breaker by any means, but will be part of my decision to purchase or not.Tags: None -

I've been asking about this too. IMO, this is the only thing that can mitigate the damage of not being able to edit player positions.
In all honestly, this is something that should have been eliminated a long time ago. Now there's more reason than ever."A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up, or if he dies." -

I doubt they will ever get rid of this. I don't think they will want to do the extra work of coding every CPU coach with his own roster composition ideology. It's one or the other because the CPU still needs to know how many players to keep for each position.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

They could have it for the cpu without forcing it on the user.Comment

Re: Roster Minimums in Madden 13
I agree that if they fix this, the inability to edit players becomes much less of an issue.
still an issue when trying to obtain hybrid players who started the roster in the opposite defensive scheme that you run, but working around absurd roster minimums was the biggest reason for player editing.Comment

It was also easier to move guys around when injuries occur. Now I guess our only option will be to sign guys for a game or two then release them?

Agree trying to circumvent these false limitations was hard enough before they removed editing without signing some FA not on the team, however as was stated I imagine its part of the cpu roster management logic so may be a while before it disappearsComment

Re: Roster Minimums in Madden 13
I feel sorry for the people that are going to buy the game and see 3/4 teams stuck with a 3rd DT from the practice squad when their 4th string RB misses out because of the roster min requriment, in the past it was easy to move a DE to DT that was actually in the team and just put him on the depth chart as a DE even though it said DT.
Also for OL it was handy moving LS to fill that retarted positon when a team kept 7 OL that could be the 8th.
Be also interesting to know if they make it 55 man roster again I know the exuse for it being 55 rather then 53 was becasue of this but it's always a problem when injuries happenComment

Re: Roster Minimums in Madden 13
most ARE TE's IRL, it's just dumb to have a Center that's 6-1 250 (like the Redskins' one, Sundberg, who's a LB/TE)
I'm not buying M13 (or any madden) until they have fixed this crap.
Most teams carry 3 tackles, not 4, + 4 or 5 interior lineman (C's and G's), hence the 7 or 8 OL's everyone is mentionning here...
I love messing with the depth charts and now they're REMOVING the edit feature? screw EA!Comment

Yeah, add to this that the CPU teams only ever carry 2 ILBs--there's lots of stuff that needs to be re-examined regarding roster management.
It is bothersome, though, that you have to have so many OL, because I'd love to have those roster spots for developmental players like a 4th HB who'll need two seasons to grow, or for highly specialized players like ST demons, big nickle players, rush-only ends, wildcat QBs, and such.
That, to me, would add a lot of depth and fun to the GM side of things.Comment
