Madden 13 and XFN:Will it Still Work?

So it seems as though in the releasing of all the E3 information the Online Franchise users who have relied on sites XFN or even LM haven't really sounded off. Or at least I haven't seen any posts.

With that being said, does anyone know if the creators of those sites will be able to do what they've done the past couple of years with the release of CC?

I can honestly say that without XFN there is no way our league would be full practically (1-2 spots open) in mid June.

DLG (formerly LM) has been working on M13 concepts and content since November. Will be doing a private beta in the coming months. You will see something completely different than what you have seen in the past (having a full development team allows for much more content). However I can't spoil any of the fun, so you will see in the coming months as well roll out our content.

Your last statement is very false. I have been in MANY leagues that never used those sites and ran just fine for many seasons.

Maybe I do not know too much about XFN and LM, but it seems like with CC, there is no use to use those anymore. Just my opinion.

I think you will see tools move towards supporting the community and providing communications tools. Stat tracking and supplemental site for Online Franchise are not needed with CCM.

Find a place with a solid community, leadership and coach base and you should be good for Madden 13

Reading comprehension. I said "OUR" league, how other leagues fair without features is of no concern to me.

I hope XFN still works, it's great. LM was garbage when we used it.

You hit the nail on the head. The real need is to support leagues and give tools to enable them to stay running and promote competition while providing leagues with ways to be individual entities and fresh.

I can read just fine actually? I said leagues have ran for many seasons without it and honestly, if your league NEEDS it, there are bigger problems with the league..

I hope that the EA site is robust enough that xfn and dlg is not needed but I'm not stupid lol. I know how EA works. I'm not canceling my account with either just yet. I'm hoping xfn and dlg won't be needed tho.

Neither should be needed. But for extras then I would say yes.

My only concern without using XFN and LM (Personally I use XFN) is you would lose the custimazation aspect and the sense of "community." With XFN you can customize the site, put up articles, add pics etc. to make your league, your league. Very personal to each league. It also breeds a place where people can check it while at work, comment in the chat box, post in forums etc. A centralized place where it's all things relating to your league. Will EA be able to provide that with Madden '13? Will League Manager or DLG or whatever it's going to be called? As it stands now, in my humble meaningless opinion, DLG is light years behind XFN. Unless, they have been working on something exclusively with EA that will jump them into the fray.

All that to say, the game looks sick and I am stoked.

all that is possible without the need of xfn or lm. we had a forum before we joined lm and xfn. just saying, the community aspect of a league can be achieved without the need of an xfn or lm.

What about the custimization aspect? The coding of each league's page. Personally, it's a little vain, but that is my favorite part. Making the webpage look sleek and inviting to the members while always providing content outside the normal Stats and standings etc. Those get boring.

can a forum not get customized also? xfn was/is great for us dont get me wrong, and we customized the page as well....i'm just saying that if ea provides all the stat tracking and from what has been released we are getting all the offseason stuff that xfn provided then imo xfn is not needed.

we made it all of madden 10 and the beginning of 11 w/o the need of something like xfn because we already had something in place. we let our forum remain our main place for the community and allowed xfn to be our offseason and stats hub.
