Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
Makes alot of sense.Never actually thought about it that way.
I used to always say I hated it when the players would demand more money.Dont people know that if the owner didnt own them it wouldnt be a team for them to play for??
But yeah players come and go.When Primetime left Dallas I was still a COwboys fan.

I dont understand what this has to do with anything. There is no I in team...so what? Is that what youre gonna tell me is the reason for cutting customization out the game? Why is superstar mode even in the game then? Why cant I TEAM up with a friend against the cpu?Makes alot of sense.Never actually thought about it that way.

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
Everybody has their own deal-breakers which is understandable. I think this new mode CAN win many people over IF there are no bugs. And that's a big IF.
The people who are excited about the new direction and features are operating under the assumption that it will work correctly. But when has Madden ever had a bug-free franchise mode? Within the last few years alone (just to name a few examples), we've had skewed season stats, and last year, the UFA bug was a huge pain. These are big deals to the offline sim junkie.
But at least before, there was always some workaround based on the open nature of the mode. Now if there's bugs that break the immersion, there's nothing we can do.
I simply have to wait until I hear the reviews from the offline sim junkies. If it's got issues, I can simply move on without having wasted $60.Comment

Too be honest, I really don't see what's great about CC.Comment

Maybe I'll play more than a half a season and the game becomes more than a coaster.
I'll judge it when I get time with it, not more than 2 months before the game comes out.Comment

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying I don't necessarily agree with the some of the people who are saying it's "it's definitely the deepest franchise mode yet" or "CC is gonna be epic".
That's all.Comment

I'm glad that Josh is at least responding to fans, albeit with generic answers. I just can't wrap my head around the idea that changing a player's number so my 3rd string scrub QB isn't wearing #16 on SF or #4 on GB will somehow break the mode. Really. A jersey change. That's a bit extreme. I know, I ask for too much.
Beyond that, I am genuinely excited about CCM's longevity. The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.Comment

I agree they shouldn't be judging, either, until it's in their hands.Last edited by roadman; 06-16-2012, 10:26 AM.Comment

I agree. I hate when I see people say nonsense like that about people using the edits to cheese. Only kids get a kick out of that. I'm a grown *** man and I can tell most of the posters on here who are upset don't do it to cheese the AI. They try to make the game as real as they can for there personal use.. I hate seeing certain stuff happen with the ratings along with some of the horrible equipment on some of the players. I spend days doing the ratings of all the players in the league in the offseason and I'm going through that process as we speak trying to crank up my year 4 franchise. There's nothing cheesy about my style of play and how I like to do things with my franchise. I do stuff to get the maximum challenge I can get from the AI. Anybody who pays attention to the way I create my sliders know that. I guarantee my franchise is way more of a challenge then the guys who let the AI teams run there franchises into the ground with those crap UDFAs and stuff.I think most people on here used the edit ratings to better portray their version of realism not to 'cheese' personally I edited hundreds of players on all teams but the majority of the edts on my team (skins HTTR ) were dowmwards, think Cooley, Moss, MeAngelo, Rex, Beck,Brown.
The point being each person has their own idea of what's important and removing the choice to play their game their way is bad businessLast edited by Jarodd21; 06-16-2012, 10:05 AM.Comment

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
With the announcement of CC i have to say that the game has went from a Definite Buy to Rent First imo. I don't know about anyone else but it almost feels like they are boxing you in with CC Mode and that becomes a problem.
I love to Simulate Franchise mode and build a team up from the ground. I would usually do this for the first few weeks of owning Madden then move to Superstar mode. I would do the back and forth between the 2 modes to keep interest up without burning out of the game (at least for a little while). Now well....They've boxed me in so i feel the game will become dull/boring sooner.
Also if Superstar mode has problems or didn't do "it" for you then you had Franchise mode to fall back on or vice versa but now 1 Mode means 1 chance to enjoy the game (and 1 chance to fall flat on your face EA developers).Comment

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
Now you see this is what has me really upset....It looks like what I feared when I saw what type of Game Design/Direction talks were going on down there from CRMosier_LM<s>@</s>Josh_Looman I like the updates, but I hope you don't mean those features will be gone for good, or I will be from Madden.
<s>@</s>PGaither84 Some of the stuff just didn't make it. Not sure about all of it. It's a new mode from the perspective of one character.
<s>@</s>Josh_Looman I understand... and I am excited for the improvements! I just hope a lot of that stuff is on the "to do list" instead of cut
My issue is if it isn't right... Remove it. That has been my stance for 3 years. I was all for custom playbooks until I realized they were a glitched up mess. If it does not work as intended get rid of it. If it is exploitable in person to person play... Remove it. It's not a hard concept. It honestly isn't shocking that people who scream for Sim will fight against removing non Sim and exploitable parts of the game, disappointing yes, shocking.. no
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2It seems to fairly obvious that the folks that care about themselves only are the offline guys. From what I see the online guys work together to try and make a better experience for everyone that plays the game. Kind of makes me sorry that I helped make the big push last year to get updates to offline franchise honestly. I guess I should start being all about "me" too

Point your anger elsewhere man. If it doesn't work properly for everyone who plays the game it shouldn't be in there... Period.... End of discussion. Stop the "me,me,me" stuff. There are no more separate modes for online/offline when doing career.

These features that we loved are 2nd Class Citizens in the New Online World of Madden....
And I think its going to inevitably lead to years of scenarios like this
"Hmmm what to add this year in CC Mode<label for="rb_iconid_5">
</label>...
Im still hearing from weirdos that they still want Full Player Editing back after all these years....Ha Cheesers probably just want to make their teams full of 99s.....
Why should I waste my resources for that crazy offline Bunch....Plus the suits have been up in my grill about new ways to take advantage of our Online Players.......Theres just too much on my plate this year
Lets add a new Post Game Interview Mini-Game Instead

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
For those people(on and offline) who continue to say its not 'sim' to edit I point you to. Mario Williams, Dwight Freeney, Ronde Barber, Cameron Wake maybe Charles Woodson, Manny Lawson who have changed position this off-season alone amongst many others including cover boy Peyton Hillis who is reverting to fullback the position he first entered the league as maybeComment
