The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
I pulled the following from the running diary of a gamechanger guy testing Madden 13. Read it and tell me you don't still prefer regular editing.
Week 4 ( missed the first week)
2:15 – Ok, so after 3 weeks I’ve only gained 2,225 XP. I can’t buy anything except for Contract Packages 1,050 XP for individual players, free agent pacjages for 787 XP for players, and 1,050 XP for XP Boost Package. Crazy!
I hate Cut Days, I have to cut 6 players.
Oh no, Reggie Wayne got hurt in a Preseason game and is out the rest of the year.
2:35 – Diving into Player Progression. I’m going to manually progress RG III, my HBs, WR, LBs, and DB
RG 3 had 1, 259 XP and does not qualify for any boosts. The lowest boost available was for 1,500 XP
Tim Hightower – had 1,274 XP again, nothing to spend on
Roy Helu – has 1,263 XP
Santana Moss – 1,699 but the only thing I could buy was Toughness that would move him from a 70 to 71
It's going to take forever to get any ratings different or to one's liking. I want to vomit. (yes, I posted this in another thread, too, but it's important here just as much).
Seems like XP is more for "tweaking" a player than building one. Still will need to scout, care about the player's skills, etc.
Or he's going to have to prove over significant time (by earning exp) that he's able to play at a high level in order to progress quickly.
As far as editing - I wouldn't edit a player's abilities. I'd rather a deeper player-based development system over EXP, but based on what you posted, I feel a bit more at ease about the experience system, even if I still don't particularly like it."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

coaches xp doesn't make a player better. each player gains their own xp which you can use to make them better. coaches xp is for off the field(free agency, scouting, and contract negotiantions) and developmental(players under you gain more xp when they complete goals) stuff.Comment

yeah reallly...what the heck does that stuff even mean...this is what I am talking about. I play OFFLINE franchise. I have never played online. This stuff means nothing to me. Aside from the roster editing disaster now we have to do all of that???Comment

It's been in Madden before (in mini camps you used points to upgrade your players skills), just not to this extent.Comment

To throw away 15% percent( I thing it is much much bigger) of your fan base away for no good reason at a time when you are losing sales and you exclusive licence is slowly approaching it's end is not good businessComment

Who cares? If he pays 65 dollars he should be able to be rated whatever he wants. Why would anybody care it his game. People act like we are putting Quaters in a arcade machine. No this game cose 59.99 in some countries over 100 dollar so who care if he wants to play 3 different games in a week, import some real rookies, play his brother or change a freaking jersey number, and if you can't do this game is not worth 60 dollars and this game certainly doesn't deserve to carry an exclusive anything.

its gonna be impossible to progress defensive players. Mark my words. I hope players still have an auto preogression during the offseason, because if not, Madden 13 will be the most frustrating experience EVER!!!!!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
Whats defense? Madden is about throwing the ball all over the field and trying to score 100 points. Defense hasnt been touched sin Ray Lewis was on the cover and all the pass trajectories are only going to make things worse.Comment

And if 300,000 plus people aren't going to buy it (which is about that 15%) they will probably have that many new customers then because it seems like their numbers on Madden stay faily consistent and may even show a growth.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
Yeah I always loved the he spent $65 so he should get what he wants. So that means if I spend 100,000 dollars on a house
I should have everything I want plus more since you know I am spending a heck of a lot more than that measly $65. Sorry but that isn't how it works you spend $65 on something someone else built if you don't like it you don't buy it.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Roster Editing Issue Rears Its Ugly Head
That's exactly the point of that argument. When buying a house, I will have choices of house, and I will then have choices of features and options within the house. With Madden, it is the only "house" available, and within that "house" we get limited/decided by others features and options from year to year.
The only legitimate argument is that I can buy or not. Of course, then the argument becomes whether or not sales make up what percentage or will or won't make a difference.I'm still playing NCAA 14 and Madden 25...and you know, it's alright.
