Addressing an earlier post - I doubt this means you'll get to play the guy all over the field on both sides of the ball. It just means that athletes now will have about 3 primary positions during the recruiting process, that by recruiting him more you figure out what those positions are, then if you are able to sign him that during the pre-season you assign him a position and the skills he builds up from then on are mainly for that one position. Still a huge improvement for athletes. -

Excited by this.
Just one of those things that makes the game a little more dynamic and flexible which is never a bad thing.Comment

Re: Five Reasons to Be Excited for NCAA 13: #3 Revamped Athletes
I'm sure this is just a statistical overlay but it wouldn't matter who you move to any position. The ratings may reflect higher in numerous positions but I'm sure the player want play any better than previous years. Its all fluff to me...PSN: Somo23P

Re: Five Reasons to Be Excited for NCAA 13: #3 Revamped Athletes
I'm not sre what you mean. Before, an Athlete was only good at 1 position. (Ex. John Smith is a ATH who is 67 ovr at QB, in the 40s for everything else. Matt Johnson is an ATH who is a 75 ovr CB, in the mid 40s for everything else) Now, they can play several positions (John Smith is 67 OVR at QB, 68 OVR at HB, and 65 OVR at WR, and Matt Johnson is 75 OVR CB, 72 OVR S, and a 74 OVR WR)Football: Denver Broncos
Baseball: Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
Hockey: Allentown Phantoms
NCAA: The College of William and Mary Tribe

I understand that.. What I meant was it didnt matter if he was a 75 or 40 ovr they still played the same because ratings dont matter..I'm not sre what you mean. Re: Five Reasons to Be Excited for NCAA 13: #3 Revamped Athletes
Well if ratings didn't matter I obviously wouldn't play the game because every player would be the same, But that isn't the case because when I take Akron to go play against Alabama I get my butt handed to me. If ratings didn't matter then I should be able to beat Alabama no problem right?

Still not pumped about this. Because they don't make the ATH positions logical based on size. A 6'2 220 pound ATH could reasonably be a QB, RB, FB, LB or SS. ATH always play either WR/CB or WR/RB or CB/FS/SS. Where are the TE/LB, RB/SS OL/DL ATH?
Hell even in real life you get guys who were HS QB and wind up playing DB or LB on college. Does EA not read a single recruiting magazine or website?Comment

Re: Five Reasons to Be Excited for NCAA 13: #3 Revamped Athletes
I'm not sure what game you've been playing. Most ratings matter in NCAA '12.Favorite Teams:
College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
NHL: Detroit Redwings
