Second, I have nothing against technology; I'm on my laptop or my iPhone all the time. Here we go...

...Can we please, PLEASE find things out in this society without the use of Facebook or Twitter? Please don't take this the wrong way, but Facebook and Twitter are great--if you're into that kind of stuff. I don't Facebook because I really don't have 874 friends and you don't either; a "friend" is someone who is down with me--not someone I went to high school with and haven't spoken to since...well, high school. And I don't tweet because I really don't think America is interested in what I think on things (even though I'm ranting on a sports forum).

I love GNC Smoothies, and they have a promotion to get a dollar off every time you get one. I inquired as to how to get it, and the smoothie chick told me I have to like them on Facebook. I'm sorry, but a GNC brick building is not my friend!!

Ok--back on track here: just have some semi-hard trivia question that people have to answer to reveal the thing piece by piece or something. I'm sorry for the rant guys; I just wish we could do things without social networking. Oh you need a blood transfusion right away? "Like" your local doctor on Facebook and tweet your blood type and we will notify you via text message.

Oh--I hope it's a either MJ again or a legend with a current player.
Love it or Hate it, Facebook and Twitter aren't going anywhere any time soon... They are both basically FREE Marketing and Advertising for Companies and their Products...

I agree with you about part of your take though, and I understand why you "don't tweet"... Personally, I don't tweet much either, for the same reason, I'm not famous lol... but I like "following" certain Athletes and Reporters because I like knowing some information before it breaks on Sportscenter or the news...

When used for the right reasons, Facebook and Twitter are great, but its the people that abuse them that give them a bad name imo... I don't care what you did on you Facebook Farm lol and NO I don't want to join your "mafia" lol.

Lebron on the cover would be bad for business, especially now. Only way it's good business to put him on it is to have alternate covers and the buyer gets to pick. 2k wouldn't do that with this being their cash cow. But I do think the Dream Team thing is feasible and welcomed by me.

The athlete on the cover would not significantly effect the sales figures. Maybe to 10 year old kids who's at the store with their parents making them buy the game. Kobe Bryant was on the cover of 2K10 and didn't stop me from buying the game, and didn't stop it from selling extremely well. If the athlete who is on the cover determines whether you buy the game or not, instead of the content that's on the game, you've got bigger issues to worry about.

I hear you man, but I disagree. People buy expensive ugly shoes just because of the guy wearing them. Revenue is attached to whether or not how much people like/hate the athlete. Putting Kobe on a cover during his rape trial would've been bad business. Kobe in 2010, not so much. Lebron in 2009 perfect, Lebron right now, not so much. The outrage it would cause would be bad for business. You think correctly for sane people, but 95% of the world is crazy lol.. Watch the news and read some of these boards and the cooky way people think and process things.

I don't know man. I was in line at midnight to a packed Gamestop buying 2K11 and only about ten out of the 250 people there bought whatever the other game was releasing that night (I forgot lol). Jordan on the cover had a lot to do with that.

Exactly. You should see some people these days... Their lives are enveloped in hating these guys. It's borderline scary.

                          Nope.

Melo isn't near #2. Not anywhere near

                          It's -

                          Lebron
                          Kevin
                          Melo

Melo also could be debatable even for the #3 spot.

I like Kevin Love in that spot, as we aren't just naming SFs.

The cover athletes play a role in the sales. This year it looks like by going with Griffin, Rose and Durant you are going with popular players that have an appeal to casual fans and hardcore fans of the NBA.

Rose: Has the most popular jersey sales in the NBA in the US. Humble no off the field issues and last years MVP appeals to casuals and hardcore fans

Griffin: Has the 9th highest jersey sales in the NBA int the US. Even people that don't think he is the best PF in the game have to realize he is a highlight show again appealing to casual fans.

Durant: Has the 8th highest jersey sales in the NBA in the US. Durant appeals to casual fans and hardcore fans. Humble and dominant scoring leader 3 times in a row.

These guys are some of the most popular and probably have the least amount of haters in the NBA little risk to sales
