Yep. Shopmaster just confirmed it. The game doesnt simulate the other teams games until you press "advance to next week". So after you play your game, you can switch coaches and play other teams games.

This also gives you a roundabout and more limited version of 32 team control.

In Madden 12 I could play any game I wanted while controlling only one team without having to switch teams. If I was playing as the Ravens, if I wanted I could just go to League Schedule and play the Bills game, play the Jaguars game, play the Cowboys game while still in control of the Ravens. They should try to figure a way to play other games WITHOUT having to switch coaches to do it.

Yeah that's true and, for the most part, I think everyone agrees (whether or not they care is a different story...lol).

The point is that 13 is designed differently and we've all gone 12 rounds on the topic already, so now people are looking for any way to workaround some of these limitations. If they work back in a way to do this without the hoop jumping, that's great. If not though, this is good news as it potentially gets around one (and maybe two-if roster moves stick for a bit after jumping around) of the bigger gripes some of us have.

Not perfect, to be sure, but certainly something positive.

Well in all fairness...I'd bet dollars to donuts that if ENOUGH people griped and voiced how frustrated they are about this, then perhaps EA would considering PATCHING it in this year.....The PLAY ANY GAME on the SCHEDULE may or MAY NOT be a difficult thing to tweak into the programming code on the 11th hour. Only EA knows for sure...and only EA has the control to do it, but we as potential customers have the right,.... or actually, the responsibility to gripe, fester, and shout it out to the heavens until our fingers fall off so they know how much it means to us....or at least until someone from EA actually responds to it.

Enough people have and I guarantee you EA knows how we feel. No need to continue griping page after page about it though.

It'd be great but I don't think it's something that can be patched into the game.

You have the right to do whatever you want (of course outside of these boards or within the rules here), but there are many features that were more important than this, such as the salary cap for Online Franchise last year, that were left out. Many people were outraged, but that did not get the feature into the game. Unless it is a very minor feature, there is hardly any chance of this making it into the game at this stage.

Before you ask: The reason why I do not label this as "minor" is because, as Justin Dewiel stated, Connected Careers is based around you and your character. I don't see Connected Careers being redesigned or designed to suit this at this stage in development, especially considering that Josh Looman wants everything to be perfect.

I'm not griping about it. If they find a way to be able to allow us to play other games, then great. All I'm saying is why make it so complicated when it was so easy before? Why make us jump through hoops of changing coaches just to play other games? As I stated, I controlled the Ravens but if I wanted to play other games, I didn't need to switch teams in the middle of the Franchise to do it.

If I am controlling John Harbaugh and let's say I want to play as the Giants I don't want to switch over to Tom Coughlin just to play as the Giants against the Eagles. I want to be able to play as the Giants while still in control of John Harbaugh.

Plus as some stated before, Madden is a virtual NFL, and some like the 32 team control because they can play out the entire season their way and keep track of their own storylines, and play out the season their way.

For me, the battle is to now make sure the features we lost gets back into the game asap for 14....

This is just another example of taking more control away from the user and its sad.

Fortunately for me, I have never played other teams games during my franchise so It doesnt effect me at all...

Last year they flat out apologized for the audio and let everybody know they had it high on their list of things to work on for 13

Im looking for the same level of recognition and commitment moving forward for the features that were lost

Right now I dont get that kind of feeling from them....Its more of a...

"well those things were just a headache anyways to program...Hopefully we won't have to deal with them for a couple of years because they'll be distracted with the other CC Mode things we added"

You won't get that. Look I'm pissed more than most about the lack of editing, 32 team franchise and a straightforward ability to play other games. The thing is EA knows we aren't happy and they (especially Looman) has made it clear that they don't consider these features to be important enough to add this year.

The bottom line is we have a workaround for this issue so continuing to gripe about it is useless. Hopefully they will make the change next year but the workaround makes it so that this issue has been minimized.

Are you really expecting them to come out in June and say what is a priority for next year?

That doesn't make sense. Even if they came out today and said it would be back in next year it wouldn't make any of us less pissed off about this year.
