The game isn't even out yet.

Are you really expecting them to come out in June and say what is a priority for next year?

That doesn't make sense. Even if they came out today and said it would be back in next year it wouldn't make any of us less pissed off about this year.

They should if they care about it enough......Like the audio...they said more or less that they know it hurts us this year but we have big plans/investments for this in the future.

Right now they remain put off by why people think this is a big Deal....and have given no indication that they're going to make time for this in the future.....History with this series has taught us that a

"Some of that stuff may make it back in eventually"

means don't expect that feature to be back for years if ever


If people keep their gripes and disagreements with this direction for CC Mode contained in threads like this one that aren't interfering with the other parts of the boards....I see no reason why people should stop discussing how they're going to deal with these issues in future Maddens...as long as it doesn't get personal

And Yes It would make me feel better if they guaranteed this stuff is coming back with a Vengeance for Madden 14...I think most are happy with the additions they made to CC Mode but are terrified that it cost them their Offline Customization for a long long time..

I can't speak for anyone else but I could take the hit this year and really look forward to 14 if I knew all of this stuff was coming back next year...Id quit worrying about it here in this thread and the others that are dedicated to missing features

This is just an honest question because the only people I've seen say things like this is the gamechangers and I don't put much stock into them as knowing the insights of the game's future.

Im just curious as to if you've seen actual game devs comment officially on that.

EA isn't going to hear something that they haven't already heard. If you guys want to waste time now and vent, have at it. Just keep it respectful.

Sure, it would make us all feel better to hear that.

You are being unrealistic though if you expect to hear something like that in June before the game has even been released.

Not a reply I was looking for. I was hoping I would hear something along the lines of trying to get it back in in the near future. This turned me off a lot more.

Not to speak for anyone but I think what Kehlis is trying to say, which I have stated myself a while back, is that further constructive criticism at this point is redundant. We all know what will be missing but we don't know exactly how that will effect the CC experience until M13 is released. I am not suggesting that once you or anyone plays CC, they will suddenly love it or these missing things will not matter but that there really isn't anything more about it to critique until the community at large gets their hands on it.

After release, whatever groundswell and pushback there will be, will mostly occur at that point, so I would expect EA/Tiburon to address these issues in more detail at that time.

I am not exactly sure about the timing but I do think that's a good comparison though. If I remember correctly, they pretty much said that they had added a new commentary tech used in FIFA and NHL during M12 development and that would help "future" commentary. However, much like this year with the past Franchise features not available in M13 CC, last year many people were saying "future" didn't necessarily mean M13. So considering Looman did generally address these issues with, he is not putting anything like that in until it's perfect and some other general statements, it's kind of up for interpretation what that means for M14, like commentary was for M13.

Matter of fact, I don't think they ever come out and guaranteed something specific for the next year, even with M11 when they announced no substantial Franchise upgrades they gave a general time like "going forward" or something, not guaranteeing it for M12.

Hopefully those comparisons bode well for M14 because even though they didn't give direct guarantees, the other two did end up major focuses the following year.

@Big the reason they rarely guarantee stuff like this is gonna be in next year is bugs and other things can come up that they may not be able to fix in time. first lesson of customer relations is never guarantee something till you have it ready. i play wow and other mmos and they do things similarly when they bring servers down. they try to put out a general time for things to be back up but never guarantee anything till they are up

I agree. In that post I was just trying to answer the question and show that as personally new some of this stuff may be for some, EA/Tiburon has behaved similarly in the past, imo.

GE – Can you elaborate to our readers why the feature has been excluded in this year’s game?

JL – Due to the completely rebuilt nature of Connected Careers we have to totally rewrite the logic that governs draft classes and how they’re handled in Madden NFL. It’s an important feature that we want to be sure is done right, and unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to include it in this year’s game. We understand it is a feature many of our fans love, so we’re working hard to get it back into the game as quickly as possible.

So... all we hear is "we didn't have enough time" but what I want to know is how is it you "ran out of time" when it is still the end of June and you still have another month left before finalizing the game and getting ready to ship at the end of August. What are they doing right now, are they even testing their new CCM to make sure everything works right?

If the game was coming out in July, ok I can understand the "we ran out of time" line better but considering it's the end of June and I'm assuming they are still working on finalizing the game, why not try to see if you can add something in that people want before you finalize the game?
