Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY
if I'm on my 10 yard line? id just say f it and let tommy rees run the ball, regardless it isn't going well.
opponents 10 yard line, Shotgun, Normal. WR drag with the TE running a corner over the top of the drag, backside has an in along with a double move post route, hot route the HB to block backside and hope to draw coverage to my drag guy. usually i can hit the TE but will sometimes check down to the slot guy if i see the LB cheatWESTERN ONTARIO MUSTANGS

Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY
I assume you mean the opponent's 10 going in for the score...
5 wide (5th WR is a big TE lined up tight) -
2 outside WRs run fades
1 WR runs a slant
1 WR runs a 10 yd out to the front pylon
TE runs a 12 yd curl behind the slant and possibly runs some interference on the defender covering the slant."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY
If you're sticking with hail mary theme, it's the hail mary play with the three receivers on one side. I hot route the HB on a streak, too, because usually the safety to the left will follow the receiver on the left and the safety on the right will help with the three receivers on the right, so the HB is usually somewhat open downfield. If he's not, if my team is set up right, the LB WR is usually a burner, and can get behind the safety and catch and run. Won more than a few games at the end like this.
If you are just looking for a first down, to help run the clock out, or continue a drive, my play is Verticals. Three WRs to the left with a TE on the right. The TE runs an out, which can SOMETIMES be open, but if the D is in zone (which is usually the only time I even look at the TE) it's a Pick 6. The real money is with the middle WR of the three (who is a streak), and the WR on the outside of the three (near the line). He runs this route that is like a curved deep slant. The safety on that side usually goes with the two streaking WRs. If the LBs are in man, the WR gets the step every time. The only defense that can stop this play is having the MLB in a zone. But even then, I can still lob it over him right to the receiver, or just wait if I can get some protection and the receiver will run out of the MLB's zone and usually be open.Comment

Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY
I would probably hot-route it up a lot.
I would do Y-cross out of Shotgun normal. The slot receiver runs about a 12 yard in on that play. I would have him lined up on near side. On the other side, I would have the TE run a slant in. I would also have the two outside receivers run slants as last-case scenario guys. I would have the RB block. Its a pretty money play for this situation. The TE can easily get 10 yards if hes open, and if not, the slot guy has a good chance of getting open across the middle a second later. If all else fails, scrambling and running for it or hitting one of the outside receivers isn't a bad fallback.Comment

Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY
Hook-and-ladder. Some schoolyard shenanigans is the only sort of thing that really has a chance of going 90 yards in four seconds. The down and distance is of no consequence, you can't run two plays in four seconds if you just get the first down, even with the clock stopping between downs and even if you had a timeout.
EDIT: if I'm on my opponent's 10, I put two receivers on the wide side of the field, in a traditional shotgun set; tight end and the third wide receiver on the opposite side. The slot receiver runs a zigout and the receiver split wide runs a deep in. I give the tight end a route across the center of the defense, and depending on the look I get from the defense I either swing the running back out or keep him in to block. The final receiver runs something into the endzone; a medium out, perhaps, something away from the rest of the defense.
I look for the tight end first if the defense comes hot, if not I'm looking for the deep in first then the zigout if the defense gives space on that size of the field and count on my guy to make a play. If I see single-man coverage on my lone receiver running the out I'm likely looking for him, however.Last edited by Hooe; 06-24-2012, 09:41 PM.Comment
