    Your Go-To Association Players?

I think everyone has those certain players that when they fire up an association, they look to try and pick up to improve their team. Usually you pick players who can develop well that you can get for cheap... Who are yours?

1] Marcus Thornton - Not cheap, but the man is an insane scorer. If you play every game, you could lead the league in scoring with Thornton. Also, not bad on defense either, and can handle the ball and pass pretty well. All around solid player.

2] Alonzo Gee - This one is all about progression. In the first season, he seems like a mediocre offensive, to good defensive player. But give him two or three years and he'll be like a mini LeBron for your squad. His offensive game flourishes and his defense only gets better. Progresses into a top 15-20 SF.

3] Terrence Williams - What is to be said about Marcus Thornton, the same can be said about Terrence Williams, except he has about two inches on Thornton and is probably 2x stronger. Plus a better defender. Great pickup, super cheap as well.

4] Kenneth Faried - Young Dennis Rodman with an offensive game. Nuff said. Crazy energy, great rebounder, immaculate defense through progression.

    Re: Your Go-To Association Players?

In 2K13 my list will include:

    Jimmer Fredette
    Stephen Curry
    J.J. Redick
    Gordon Hayward
    Kawhi Leonard
    Kevin Love
    Jared Sullinger
    DeMarcus Cousins
    Hasheem Thabeet
    Channing Frye

Two teams I am really looking forward to starting Associations with are the Kings and Thunder.

For the Kings I would be looking to trade Thomas Robinson, Tyreke Evans, Marcus Thornton (sorry OP), Isaiah Thomas, and necessary draft picks to acquire a team that looks like this...

PG - Steph Curry, Jimmer Fredette
    SG - J.J. Redick, (someone)
SF - Kawhi Leonard or Gordon Hayward
PF - Kevin Love, Jared Sullinger
C - DeMarcus Cousins, Hasheem Thabeet

As for the Thunder, I'm really excited about what they did in the offseason through the draft (Perry Jones III) and free agency (Hasheem Thabeet). I'll be looking to trade Kendrick Perkins, Serge Ibaka, Eric Maynor, Reggie Jackson, Cole Aldrich, Thabo Sefalosha, and necessary draft picks to acquire a team that looks like this:

PG - Russel Westbrook, Jimmer Fredette
SG - James Harden, J.J. Redick
SF - Kevin Durant, Perry Jones
PF - Kevin Love (if possible to acquire for Ibaka/Perkins/picks)
    C - Hasheem Thabeet

Even though he's rated pretty high my biggest pickup is usually Kyle Lowry. I'm also big on Alonzo Gee. Tyler Honeycutt is also somebody I like to round my bench off with.

The guys I usually go for are Dorrell Wright, Anthony Randolph, DeMarcus Cousins and Greg Monroe. The rotation of Randolph Cousins and Monroe is a great front-court for years to come!

Deshawn Stevenson and Courtney Lee. All you can expect from them is 3's and D, but they're so easy to trade for and I love having them as backup SG's for all my teams.

andre igoudala (not very hard to score with him plus a great defender.)
wilson chandler (solid scorer and defender)
^these two make my favorite duo in any of my associations

kevin martin (comes off the bench with my 2nd or 3rd unit. i've gone on 5+ consecutive 3 point streaks with him on more than one occasion)

josh smith (i use him as a sixth man but he gets 32 minutes per game behind rakeem christmas' 24)

kevin durant, afro kobe (obvious reasons)

I love Stephen Curry as my pseudo-Superstar franchise player. Guy lights it up. I usually pick up Paul George on the wing. Jimmer is cash from 3 and seems to get open a lot. Also LeBron is an absolute god, but most people already knew that.

Not cheap but I try to get Deron Williams. Dude is a baller who can do it all in NBA 2k12.

I go for Courtney Lee all the time. Insane offensive game and can be a good backup PG with some focused development.

I also always seem to end up with Malcom Lee and he always seems to end up being my sixth man by the end of the year. He's virtually identical to Courtney Lee minus the 3 point game.
I say it every year, no matter how many people laugh at me, "The Spurs/Texans/Astros will win the championship this year!"

Manny Harris, cheap and can knock down the 3.
                      Alonzo Gee, mini-LeBron
Mareesse Speights, great rebounder with size and always re-signs for a cheap amount
Greg Oden(free agent), great potential, amazing trade value. after 1st season he develops into a 4star 76overall player. good when healthy but i usually trade him during draft as he costs alot [over 6mil per season, which isnt good as CP3 is always a free agent during 1st offseason when using 2k's roster, so i try to pick him up]

                        I'm big on Terrico White.

                        Athletic freak.

Reminds me a lot of Tyreke evans with his skill set.

I also like to go for Hasheem Thabeet. On 2k, he can be dominant. He has enough of an offensive game to put up 10-15 ppg and being 7'3 always helps for defense and rebounds.

I have a few guys that always get a spot.

C/PF - Omer Asik - This guy is pure defense/rebounding. He is a great back up and suitable starter.

C - Solomon Alabi - Much like Hasheem Thabeet, Alabi is a big 7+ footer with defense and rebounding who makes a great 3rd option, and often is a great pair with Omer at the 4

PG - J.J. Barea - The typical spark plug guy. His offense is electric and he is a great 2nd unit play maker

SF - Earl Clark - He has the potential in-game to be the exact opposite of Durant. I'm talking shot blocking, dunking, contact loving 6'10" beast muffin.

SG - Anthony Morrow - 3 points. What can I say? Need instant offense from your second unit? Put him, run some designed plays and watch the 3's rain.

For me it has to be Jason Richardson. I can't do crap with Kobe, LBJ, Wade, or players like them, but I beast with Jason Richardson. Another player is Alonzo Gee, like some of you mentioned.

Kyle Lowry is money from 3. I try to get him if/when he goes into free agency.
