    WR Mid Screen?

This play never seems to work for me. My wr always catches it and either ends up getting tackled immediately or getting stuck behind blockers for a loss of a few yards. Have any of you had success with this play?

Same here. I've had it work well for 20 yards once, but that's about it.

I found that if you hold the stick up and to direction the receiver is coming from (away from the middle of the field), then you keep them from running into defenders as often. I really hate how this play was nerfed though.
If for any reason you're not completely satisfied, I hate you.

Works great 75% of the time for me.

The key is timing. You have to wait until the last possible second to get rid of the ball. Ideally, your WR will catch it in the middle of the field, and your blocking will open up multiple holes to choose from. It's not a huge gainer, but I get 7-10 yards consistently.

I got decent yards with it last year, but this year I can get nothing with it. Half the time my QB misses the wr by 4 yards.

This is true. If you wait long enough, till your WR gets closer to the middle of the field and hit him you should be successful for decent yardage. You wont take it to the house, but 8 yards seems about right. Let him get past your blockers first, then throw, and use those blockers. With good execution, and in the right situation you could get a nice gain from it. I ran one for about 25 yards the other night.

Yep. Once again EA knows no middle ground. In real life, this play will work for 5-20 yards, on occasion it will go for 65, and once in a while it will get blown up, but that happens rarely.

But good ol' EA... it's always one thing or the other. No middle ground. It doesn't help that WR's have no clue when it comes to blocking, or that when you call it as an audible, suddenly the DE will not rush the passer and will stand right in the path of the WR... we went from Psychic DB's to Psychic DE's... And the Bubble Screen... for the love of God, how can they not program WR's to block correctly... run a Bubble Screen and watch the replay of your WR's who are supposed to block.

I just wish they would find someone who could get their engine to work properly and could code it right and also that they would learn there is a middle ground in football. W/ EA it's either gold or it's crap. No in between.

Works for me if the defense isn't in press man.

                  Speaking the truth.

Offenses usually deploy the screen in real life when defenses are backed off trying to prevent anything deep.

This play is an absolute gem if ran correctly. With good timing, if they catch it in stride you can turn this play up for a good 6-10 yards everytime you run it.

Also, you should be able to know when/when not to throw the ball. You dont have enough time to 2nd guess. This is one of those plays that either work, or dont work.

From my exp with the WR Mid Screen, it works 80% of the time. You just gotta know how to execute it.

I completely own with the screen. Too bad my HB's don't even have close to 92 speed or more.

Believe me dude, I know how to execute it and I also know how it's run in real life. One thing that cripples it in the game is when you {QB} get the ball from center, you cannot see the WR.

But, as I said, in last year's game at least it worked more consistently w/ what you see in real life. In this year's game, it doesn't.

I use it as an audible only... when I see the defense in Cover 3/4 or if a CB is blitzing... but this year when I audible to it, no matter if it's the 1st time or 3rd time, the CPU knows what I audibled to, because the DE will just dart out and stand in the path of the WR.

It could just be me, but I've always found that you should wait until the last possible second as they said, and then you should cut slightly to the outside after the reciever gets the ball, based on blockers positions and defenders of course. This might not be how it was intended (tbh never seen it ran in football on tv, maybe just didn't recognize it) but it usually works for me. Just happy its not like the mid screen in madden that is a INT about half the time

If you watch college football, I don't know how you couldn't have seen it. It's in every spread offense, the Run & Shoot and the Air Raid. But here's a video of Texas Tech running it...
