    Road to Glory broken?

WOW! This is just outrageous that this is in the final version of the game. This game is supposed to be played for fun, and CLEARLY this is not any fun at all, it's just incredibly frustrating and annoying.

Comon EA, this mode was really good and solid last year, you tried to make a couple changes, and now it's broken! I'm just speechless...

Haven't gotten there yet. Still in high school with one playoff game to go. Thanks for the heads up.

It's not broken. Playing on Heisman makes it hard, but I never feel cheated.

Do you have any more specifics? What position do you play, how long did it take you to get to the top of the depth chart, and are you having trouble retaining your spot on the depth chart after bad performances in practices or games?

Wow... I'm pretty concerned now. I started my RTG running back a few nights ago and was loving having the difficulty on All American but I'm still in high school. After seeing this, I'm thinking I might want to switch it down to Varsity and just up the sliders to cheat the system into All-American difficulty so I can keep the other Coach's Trust point system.

After watching that video during the running back portion, I started to pay attention to the Trust Points bar and man these guys are not lying. Dude had a 5 to 7 yard gain and literally only got 1 point. That's insane when you think about how many points it takes to move up.

Was just commenting about this in another thread. One big one I found was that if you are doing punt/kickoff returns and there is a penalty on your team, you get docked -20 points because of loss of yardage.

I'm playing on AA and it just seems impossible. You run a dozen plays as a RB and only get 30 points or so and then a lineman misses a block and you get tackled for a loss and lose 10 points, something isn't right. Especially when an option is called and the QB tosses it to you with a guy on you already, you can't do anything. Then on a pass play and you call for a pass and the AI thinks it was a bad call, you get docked 20 points.

Is this a joke? If it's not, then this is RIDICULOUS! Do the people at EA actually know what football is? Why do our RTG players get docked for other players' mistakes, and they're rather extreme penalties at that (-20 points for that, -100 for an INT, -40 for a sack, +12 for a TD?).

The logic for coaches' trust in this game is broken. Absolutely outrageous that I paid $60 for this when I could just keep playing the RTG in NCAA 12 that's basically the exact same thing but more fun and it's possible to start more than 0 games in your college career unlike NCAA 13. This is just pathetic EA, this needs patched very very soon or I'm definitely returning this game

Not a joke. "Luckily(?)" I had just moved from 4th string to 3rd string the previous week and was at 0 points when I started the game. I ended up with 0 points at the end because on the last three punt returns I did in the game there were holding penalties on my team on each play. -60 points on three plays. Wiped out the whole games accumulation.

I take back what I said. I'm on All-American, not Heisman. I'm a fairly low string QB, but that's because I purposely played as poorly as I could while still getting a scholarship from Duke.

They do take away way too many points for INTs and Sacks. They need some way of figuring out if a INT/Sack was your fault. Ex. A tipped ball that is picked off hurts you less than the ball that was picked off because you threw into triple coverage. A sack where you are sacked immediately takes away a few points, whereas if you get sacked by staying in the pocket for a while takes away a lot of points.

                    Re: Road to Glory broken?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Im not really sure about RTG being completely broken. But i do agree about some of the things said so far.

Playing as a CB on RTG, coming out of HS and walking on at Notre Dame at 3rd String I played a decent amount of time. It took me about 3/4 weeks to actually move up into a actual starting position (Which would be 2nd string realistically). But it damn sure wasnt easy. Sometimes your teamates will totally blow their assignment and force you to cover a WR/RB dropping into your zone and if you dont pick up his slack, you get "Bad Coverage" dock. Sucks.. But its -20 or however many points it is.

On the other hand, Ive had a problem where I make a "Big Hit" and got that +10 for it, but a tackle is worth +12. (Even if its a ATK, you get 12).

Other thing is how we look at this. We wanted a harder difficulty for RTG and thats what we got. Even the developers say they've had hard times. However I believe the fault system is a bit broken. While it is a team game, somethings just arent your fault, like a QB making a sH8tty option play and you left with the "egg on your face" look.

My suggestion is that, maybe EA should hook up with 2K and see how their system works. The player grade system in NBA2k12 was pretty decent and rewarded you enough for doing good, and didnt dock you too too much for fkn up.

I feel like broken is the wrong word here. Broken is when something doesn't work the way it was meant to. If this is how they meant the points to come and go, then it's not broken, just poorly designed.

I don't think its fully broken, but the whole concept is you are supposed to be building trust between you and your coach in hope of him promoting you to be eventually 1st string and captain. Why is it that when a teammate screws up on their end and you have done everything to your ability to make the play, you get docked in "Coach Trust" points?

I understand about losing points for your mistakes, loss on a run, dropped pass, etc, but the amount of points lost compared to the amount of points gained for doing good on a play seems a bit off.

I get Heisman is supposed to be hard. I want the game to be hard which is why I love 2k, it's challenging but REALISTIC. +20 for a 30 yard TD and -20 for a half yard loss??? That's ********. It really bothers me that EA is paying somebody a six figure salary who sat down with this game, tested it, then came to the conclusion that that was a fair and realistic system. EA better pray 2k never gets the rights to make a football game again, they'll probably destroy NCAA and Madden and force them into another 2 year hiatus (see the Live series).

This system is hard...Perhaps too hard. I lowered the difficulty down for my RTG QB to All-American and it's somewhat better albeit very slightly. I've learned in practice just to take the short dump off passes and I can gain 200 or so points which I will probably blow in-game. I'm still working on the next level after gaining the starter position week 1 in season 2. I think that it needs to be changed but it isn't a top priority for me.
