Last November several of the writers were part of an OS roundtable discussing this issue:

In this discussion, Robert Kollars was talking about the tendencies glitch and EA's failure to fix it, in spite of 4 patches. He said:

I know that week 1 sales don't mean everything, but I'd be curious about this.
