hey guys, long time no see it's been a while, but I was busy with college and work ... but I have more time to play now and I thought I'd share the Be a GM I have been playing for a couple weeks.

Again, I chose my Flames for the chise. I understand that Weezer also runs a Flames chise at the moment, but since I don't plan to blow up the team immediately, we should be able to co-exist

In terms of rosters - I have spent many hours to edit the 2011 prospects to make the draft as realistic as possible. I have created numerous Flames prospects that weren't in the game, including college players Johnny Gaudreau, Bill Arnold and John Ramage; 2012 first round pick Mark Jankowski; Finnish forward Markus Granlund; and USHL prospects Patrick Sieloff, Jon Gillies and Matt Deblouw. I put all of them in the QMJHL and made them available in the 2012 draft, where I drafted all of them. Thanks to EA for making this so complicated

FLAMES MAKE MINOR MOVES AHEAD OF SEASON

FLAMES WAIVE COMEAU, CLAIMED BY FLORIDA

The Calgary Flames announced that they put forward Blake Comeau on waivers yesterday. Comeau just signed a new one-year contract in June, but was outperformed by other forwards in training camp. Comeau is no stranger to the waiver wire, as the Flames themselves picked him up via waivers from the Islanders last season.

UPDATE: Comeau did not clear waivers, as he was picked up by the Florida Panthers.

FLAMES CLAIM THOMAS POECK

The Calgary Flames announced that they claimed defenseman Thomas Poeck off waivers from the Colorado Avalanche. Poeck, 30, played 118 NHL games for the Rangers and Islanders between 2004 and 2009, but spent the last three seasons in Europe, playing for Rapperswil-Jona in Switzerland and Modo in Sweden. Hoping for another NHL opportunity, the Austrian defenseman signed a one-year deal with Colorado in July.

"Thomas will provide important depth and leadership on the blue line in Abbotsford", Flames GM Jay Feaster said. "He will also be a valuable call-up option for our NHL team."

FLAMES TRADE BUTLER FOR A 2ND ROUND PICK

The Calgary Flames addressed their logjam of defensemen on one-way contracts and traded Chris Butler to the Dallas Stars for a second-round pick in the 2013 Entry Draft. Butler, 25, was acquired as part of the trade that sent Robyn Regehr to Buffalo last year.

"We want to thank Chris for his services", Flames GM Jay Feaster said. "He was an important player for us last year. However, after bringing in Dennis Wideman and promoting T.J. Brodie, we felt the need to shed a contract. We wish Chris all the best for his future."

FLAMES BUY-OUT STAJAN

The Calgary Flames announced that they bought out pivot Matt Stajan. The forward would have made 3.5 million dollars in each of the remaining two years of his contract.
