    The Best Recruiting Gem Ever?

I mean honestly, this made the NCAA '13 purchase worth it for me today. First of all, sheer blind luck in deciding to recruit this 1* Center. After I finished scouting him I thought it was a typo or that he would get pulled out from under me. Thankfully, no one was interested in him besides myself and Akron.

Sadly, he'll probably end up being the best recruit I sign in my time at Kent State, ever, and he was only my 3rd signing.:o

EDIT: Of course, as soon as I post this, a 3* HB who bumped up to a 69 overall just committed. I'll take it. Also, I'm recruiting on All-American.

Nothing like finding that random gem. Seems like big gems are often JUCO players.

I had a 1* RB on one of my dynasties at a 69 (+15). Sucks I didn't get him though.

Still, my point is that he was rated as a 54 overall 1* center. I haven't seen any recruits bump up more than 6-9 points, let alone +13?!

Hopefully you're right though! I have a 72 overall WR who's getting close to committing to me over South Carolina. I keep nailing them on the sheer fact that he doesn't want to play far from home (cha-ching). I guess my board was a bit better than I expected, heh.

I saw a 4* ATH that was a 70 OVR get bumped to 79 with 92 speed, 96 accl, 85 throw pow, 84 throw acc. Can't believe I'm UTSA and about to take this guy in. I'm first and it's week 13, and I've got a 380 point lead over UF because he's in-state for me and prox to home is his most important

I had the same thing happen to me in my ULL dynasty. Some ATH started out at 74, then after recruiting he shot up to 82. He run, throw, catch, and return. Someone is about to dominate the Sun Belt.

I've noticed quite of few of my gems have been JUCO athletes who turn out to be silly good when you move them to QB. Like 90+ speed and THP/THA both in the mid 80's.

My best was a +14 MLB. He was 1* at 53, shot up to a 67. He'll probably be a starter next year for my ND State squad.

In my first year now and I've picked up a three star who started as a 69 rated scrambling QB, and after scouting turned out to be an 82 rated recruit. The absolute perfect pickup for a spread option offense.
                    Truly a ridiculously good pickup.

I think what makes it so great is that recruiting with a bad team doesn't feel so hopeless anymore. Not cheap either because IMO, there is much more parity in the NCAA than EA used to represent. It's not so cut and dry.

                        I've had a couple +13 and +14. My best was a +16.

I had a RB go from 66 to 79 and be better than the #1 back in the country with Texas State.

Had a few like that with corner and lineman.

Just had a QB go from 65 to 77.

The BEST Ive gotten yet was a 54 overall 2* Center who ended up at 70 overall.

OL's seem to be full of 1* gems.

I've gotten a 76 tackle up from 63, and several OG's that went up over 10+ points.

Plus, with OL's being so easy to scout...I'm scared they'll nerf it with a patch.

One time I got a 75 fullback (best in country) turn out to be a gem and go up to 86...

Checked all my NCAA 14 classes and the best gem I ever got was a +11. Below that, had a +10 once. Wondering has anyone ever had a +12 or better in '14?
