    Gems/Busts

    A bust who's still a 70 ovr, is better than a 60 overall right?

I feel as though bust and gem are used in an overexaggerated way and are really just "not as
    good/bad as originally thought."

That's fine, I just wanna make sure a bust doesn't show up to camp a 50 and never progress.

    Experiences?

Was wondering this too, have an OT that is labeled a bust but is a 73 ovr. That is still decent for a FR...

I was wondering this myself. I just made it through my first season and am now starting the next. I have a G that was considered a gem after he went up +8 during scouting and I'm wondering if he will progress more than normal or at the same rate as other players. Also does the same apply for busts? Will they progress less than normal?

Any player that is -5 or more lower then their initial rating is considered a bust. They can still be good player they just aren't as good as originally advertised. Some of the 5* guys are initially in the low 80's but end up say a 75 they are labeled a bust. If you are a small school getting 4and 5* busts is still better then most 2 and 3* guys.

I haven't played deep enough into a dynasty yet to really notice if there are actual progression differences, but from what I can tell it is just the +5/-5 threshold that makes a difference. I havent noticed anything other than their pre-scout rating to post-scout rating changing.
