Yes.......BUT!!!!

Will they eliminate all other modes like Madden did? That's the problem. The Madden team didn't consider gamers who don't wanna play a GM style mode with one team. And they took out the basic franchise mode in the process.

Which killed the game for those of us who like to play offline multi-player seasons.

I would hazard a guess that Play now, BAP, HUT, and single season mode (where you if I remember correctly can control all teams) are still in the game.

I do realize that some people like the whole "Control the whole league" thing. Personally I never understood it but to each their own and all that.

This was in one of the blogs posted around, about 30 details of gm connected. I hope this works like they say.

21. When deciding what moves his team should make for the upcoming season, first the GM Brain determines if his team is a championship-level team, a contender, a hopeful, or in rebuilding mode. This evaluation helps set the types of trades a team is willing to engage. If a team is on the cusp of a championship, it may trade off some prospects to get a veteran who fills a weakness. If a team is in full rebuilding mode, it will be much more likely to trade off players at the tail end of their prime in exchange for prospects or draft picks.

25. GM Brains also have the ability to project their rosters up to five years out. This helps them determine what talent is coming up so it knows when it's smart to either trade a veteran during the deadline to make room for a prospect or let him leave via free agency.

21 was supposed to be in the game last year too, and the year before that. Honestly as much as I do kinda champion the NHL sku they have totally dropped the ball on GM mode the last few years in terms of proposed features actually working as advertised.

- Income/Revenue
- No Trade Clauses included in contracts
- As franchise mode goes on no ridiculous 14mil/yr contracts
- Maybe use the bidding system from Madden for Free agency
- Sign players from Overseas Leagues
- Better rookie scouting system

I have two things:
1 - I hope the BAP and BAGM modes merge into one mode, where your player can start in juniors and work his career through the NHL and transition, after retirement, to a GM. One big mode, with skill points accumulating along the way.
2 - Personal backstory. The effectiveness of any good leader often comes from his personal experiences, not just his professional experiences. A solid backstory, with random events, meant to challenge or ease the job.

you have an idea how to actually make that fun? how long does it take in real life hours to get BAP to retirement?

I mean, out there, what is the best Franchise mode.. Fifa or MLB the show?

Every game has their perks, and NHL would have to match the following for me to call it the best franchise ever:

-More Leagues like ECHL, KHL, Allsvenskan, NCAA (FIFA)
-Free Agent Bidding (Madden)
-Hire Fire Coaches, REAL COACHES (MLB)
-Income/Revenue/Advertising (MLB)
-Better Scouting. They say they have a 'scout' but if that was true, Yakupov wouldn't go in the 7th round... (NCAA)
-Roster Share (NCAA/MLB)
-WJHC (MLB Futures game... i know CHL prospect game is there but mehh)
-Allstar Festivities (meh) (MLB/NBA)
-Expansion/Relocation (Madden)
-Full exhibition/training camp schedule (MLB)
-Interactive draft (NBA)


Those are just a few things. Not per se make or break things for me, but if they want to be the best franchise mode ever, they're going to need to really step their **** up.

GM Mode in NHL was already like this, you control one team, GM Connected doesn't change that.

Well GM mode needs to be restricted to just the one user controlled team,....otherwise,you`re able to intervene into every club`s business which would negate the whole point of BaGM.

In Season mode and Playoffs,you can control all teams and control all their roster moves and such,as well as play all the games using all the teams.
I`m assuming that these modes will still be in the game.

It would be nice if there was more info coming out.
It`s hockey,it`s not necessary to make everything in the game a big SECRET.

Having the info is what creates the hype,as long as it`s good news.

Keeping it a secret till the last seconds,doesn`t create hype,.....it creates rumours and speculation,and grumbing and complaining(obviously,bad news should be kept secret,and not released...foreshadowing maybe?)

It`s not like they have to protect info from competitors.

Don't say that too loud in front of some Madden folks. God forbid they can't control every team and run the entire league. Point it out how it pretty much defeats the purpose of gm mode and they skin you alive.

Is GM Connected just the new Be A GM mode with online capabilities? In other words, if I'm just wanting to do a standard franchise mode, controlling the Blackhawks will I start a "GM Connected" mode or will it still be called Be A GM?

Also, what's that I read about the draft? We can't draft our players? What the?

IIRC, that only applies to online GM modes. Offline GM mode you'd still draft your players like normal.

Yes, from what I understand GM Connected = Be a GM mode.

You just have the option to play GM Connected online with others, or offline by yourself. So all additions are for offline as well.

this is my understanding as well....hopefully we're correct about it. im not anti-social..only because of my job that i only play my BaGM games either late nite (pst) or early morning.

My big question is exactly how "fluid" (EA's term) the Connected mode will actually be. They're claiming that you can play it in any number of ways, even within the same league; I wonder how flexible that is. Can I play by myself controlling all players (VS style) against a team of six users (OTP style)? Can I control 4 skaters while an online friend locks as one and play against a guy who's just coaching? Can I set my team to CPU-controlled while I'm on vacation for 2 weeks and it'll play all my matches against any type of opponent?

If it's truly fluid, then this may very well become my go-to mode. It's really the only way I can see being able to play multiple seasons with other people in a reasonable amount of time. Some of the language EA has used about it has made me a little skeptical, though.
