NCAA Football 2K2 was real fun on the Dreamcast. It was the first college football game to have online play.

I never played the 2K3 version, so I can't comment on that one.

Sounds like a stupid lawsuit and another reason our judicial system is messed up.

The NFL shopped out their license, if EA didn't buy it another company would have done so. Yet, of course, we have to blame EA.

The same goes for NCAA and AFL. These companies wanted to go exclusive to make more money and if EA didn't buy those rights then someone else would have.

I guess we should start suing anyone that has exclusive deals. Sue Sony for making games only for their console, Microsoft too. Oh, let's sue DirecTV for being the only people the NFL Sunday Ticket too.

Also, the argument of the price of games is irrelevant. Or else we should sue all publishers who price their games at the normal value of 59.99.

PS: I highly doubt 2K has the money to bring back a franchise that it hasn't worked on in years, though I would love the competition.

That game was terrible, but that was before NFL 2k was even great. Now that they aren't developing MLB, I can't see why they wouldn't attemp this.

And I'll still hold out hope that this will dissuade EA from renewing the NFL contract -- hopefully.
What about a settlement that doesn't bar them from renewing the NFL license exclusively dissuades them from doing just that?

2K Sports has only NBA 2K13 planned for this year (and the coming years). They already approached the NFL two years ago ... and they have room for. it's obvious that they'll be back soon.

If anything the NFL originally being the one shopping it's license as exclusive could be why only NCAA and AFL were covered in this and the NFL wasn't as far as not renewing exclusivity. The NFL deal was kosher, the way they went about cornering the market on other similar games and kept the price up of all of them wasn't apparently.

Actually your looking at about $10 for all of them according to the settlement sum of $1.95 a copy. I got more from my Ipod class action involvement.

That's one way of looking at it.

The other way is they saved themselves the NFL contract and a ton more money by not going to trail and in front of a jury.

That and NCAA 13 is so stale. We need some fresh blood and life in the football community- specifically NCAA.

Don't know how much it takes to make a game from scratch, and I see that people are saying that 2k might not have the money make one from scratch. Could we possibly do a Kickstarter, or something to that effect?

It's been stated in a couple articles that EA had been approaching the NFL for years about exclusivity. I wouldn't put the blame on EA so much if they didn't scoop up those other two football licenses.
