Other than the fact that they are both about superheroes and were both well-hyped these movies have nothing in common and are, as that E! News comedy piece displayed, impossible to compare.

Impossible to compare. I liked TDKR way more, because I'm a Batman fan.

Yeah, you can't really compare the two. I really enjoyed both, but like Matrix, I've always loved Batman more so TDKR wins, for me.

I voted for TDKR because I'm a Batman fan, but I hate comparing these two. They're both great in my opinion. Like Beantown said, they're so different that I just don't see the point in comparing them other than to give fanboys something to bitch to each other about.

Avengers was more entertaining and better dialogue. Dark Knight rises had so many logical errors and plot holes.

That E! News article reads like it was written by a child. Avengers was more fun? Sure, but so is watching Nick Cage in a bear suit running around hitting women, but that doesn't mean its a great movie.

Avengers was really well done and the whole tent-pole universe idea is great (I would love for DC to do that with Batman and leave him out of JLA). TDKR and as an extension Nolan's series was an amazing ride that really fired on all cylinders in the moments that really mattered.

Neither of them are perfect and the comparisons are legit, but not the way this article does.


With that said, Avengers was fun but it felt pandering and, for lack of a better word, childish compared to TDKR. Rises is far from perfect, but I think its scope is far greater and there's a lot more going on.

Agree with you a 100%, as for the two movies I loved both, but Avengers didn't stimulate me mentally. I saw it once and after I saw it i really had no urge to see it again. The action was great and hulk was awesome but the plot was weak and it never left me with the feeling of wow I really need to see that again. TDKR was just a great spectle and It made feel like watching it 2 or 3 times at the theater, plus Imax>>>>>3D

I'm not sure I understand reason #3 at all. They praise The Avengers for doing something, then say that while Nolan did the same thing with TDKR as well, that they "expected" it anyway so it's not as awesome.

I just TDKR. The Avengers was enjoyable, but of all the independent Marvel films it surpassed, I don't think it surpassed Iron Man, and I enjoyed TDKR much more than that. I think that's justification enough.

EDIT: Actually, that entire article was completely stupid and childish.
