    Academic Prestige

Morning everyone... Quick question for you. Was in my offline dynasty for about 15 minutes last night to do a little recruiting and I notice my Academic Prestige went from an A+ to an A. I'm the OC for Stanford...

How do I get that back up to an A+? Am I recruiting players with Awareness that's too low or are my players partying it up too much between practices and games? (which is counter-intuitive if you follow the Cliff Claven school of thought about intelligence and drinking...)

Just struck me as odd considering it's Stanford.

    Thanks in advance and Cheers!

    Re: Academic Prestige

Based off of the emoticon you posted, I imagine you are setting a poor example for the kids.

Honestly, I have no clue. This happens to me in some dynasties, and it is very annoying.
    Football: Denver Broncos
    Baseball: Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
    Hockey: Allentown Phantoms
NCAA: The College of William and Mary Tribe

William and Mary Class of 2018!

This happened to me with Maryland too. I think it has to do with underclass players leaving for the NFL early.

Hmm. I guess that would make sense. Well, I guess I'll just have to figure out how to keep them around all 4-5 years.

        Thanks!

I'm not to sure about that, I've heard it's completely random from year to year and I've also heard that it could be from kids leaving early.

            Re: Academic Prestige

Academic Prestige is based on how many seniors you graduate. If they leave early it does not help it hurts. Now if they are seniors and are they are entering the NFL Draft then I believe it still helps and not hurts. It is based on how many seniors graduate and do not leave early or transfer from your school.

With USF in year 1 I was D+ and year 2 I was C-. I have no idea why. The school academic ratings in Florida are completely ****ed, but that is a different rant for a different thread lol

                Re: Academic Prestige

Academic Prestige is based on how important AP is to the players on your team. So if you recruit a bunch of guys who have "Low" or "Least" etc as their importance for AP, then your AP ranking will go down.

Who told you this? It has to do with graduates.

It is completely random, as is lifestyle. You have like a %20 chance every year of this going up or down one level.

No it doesn't. It is completely random. It was stated by the dev team and there is some percentage every year (can't remember) that it might increase or decrease. Same with campus lifestyle.

If it had to do with graduates, every lower tier team would have A+ AP.

I thought it had to do with graduating seniors. I must have been confused because when it was talked about that is what I heard. Looks like ill be forcing that Academic Prestige pitch.

Logically thinking about this, why should this rating ever really change?

Why would a school of thousands of students, in a lot of cases 10 of thousands, have their school's academic prestige impacted by what 70 football players are doing?

I could see maybe a movement from A+ to A, or A to A+ or something very minor after like 10 years in or something. As long as it's random I suppose that is sort of believable. But any other movement of this grade is just silly in my opinion.

But I mean Duke and Stanford are always going to be Duke and Stanford when it comes to academics.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. I know the designers want to make this a "dynamic" game, but some things are pretty steadfast. I actually accepted the OC job at Stanford over the same job at Arizona State due to many reasons; but Academic Prestige was a big one since it's yet another recruiting tool and there's nothing wrong with having an A+ in another pitch!
