What is Wrong with Coach Prestige?

I have won 2 National Championships in 3 season and recruited top 2 classes in the past 3 years, yet when the new season starts, my Coach Prestige falls from an A+ to a B or B-. I only signed a new contract once during this period.

Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

In my offline dynasty, Saban's prestige is a D in year 2. I'm controlling Auburn and noticed because I have a lot of head to head recruiting battles with Bama. There is definitely something wrong here.

I could be mistaken, but isn't the coach prestige grade driven directly by passed / failed goals for the coaching contracts screen?

Re: What is Wrong with Coach Prestige?

I might be wrong but isn't the Coaches prestige now linked mainly to Promises made/kept and meeting your coaches goals in your contract?

meaning that you have a given amount of "Coaches integrity" points that builds up with promises kept to players, so when a player graduates his promises come off your board. so if you never make any promises you won't have your points change, if you make and keep promises your points will go up over time until said player leaves.

I have mike Leach and his starting integrity points are 127, I've made like 10 promises to incoming recruits and there stands to be a big change during next recruiting season as long as I keep those promises.

in addition to that, you have to reach your coaching goals and the more you meet the more your rep goes up. if you fail any of them then they can have a more drastic effect. also if they sign a new contract then it lowers their prestige because now they don't have "completed goals" anymore.

Supposedly. However, I passed all my single-season goals in the first year of my contract and I still went down from an A+ to a B- once the new season started.

My long-term, contract-length goals are still pending (in my final season), but I'm not in danger of failing any of them.

I'm starting to believe that this is just an issue with dynasty mode.

I know you get a "coach integrity" bonus when you make a promise to a recruit.

Your definately onto something kuz. I've noticed the same thing and its doing my head in. Meeting all my goals, beating higher ranked teams, sticking with my current contract and still my rating goes down. This is 100% a break in the game.

i think coach prestige has to do with passed/failed goals, bowl game wins, and if you keep or fail your promises

Promises are a big component of prestige. Are you breaking promises to recruits?

I agree. I just won 2 National Championships and my prestige was at a C+. EA needs to fix this.

Anyone think that it's not broken, but instead this is the way EA made it work?

It goes up in-season while you offer and keep promises. Showing how your integrity is going over with new recruits and the guys currently on your team. Then goes back down in the off-season to reflect how much experience your coach has over the long haul. I mean, your coaches are still going up in prestige every year, right? You're not falling back down to a D grade in year 4. You're starting out at a B. How realistic would it be if your coach was at an A+ prestige after 3 years with head coaching experience, even if you did win NC every season for 3 years. It still should only be a B. An A+ grade should be hard to reach and stay with. Not handed to you after 3 years as a coach. I'd say only a handful of coaches in real-life would have an A or A+ grade, and all of those guys have been around the block a time or two.

Your example falls pretty short. I agree with the statement as a whole, but if you won three consecutive NC's, you'd probably be regarded as the best coach at the time.

True, but this is a video game. A 1st time head coach isn't going to win 3 NCs in a row in real life. Actually, a 1st time HC isn't going to get the Alabama job in the first place. So the game does a fine job of showing how your integrity goes up in regards of a career as a whole, not just after 1-2 great seasons.

I'd like to see someone who has played 6-7 years in Dynasty and have them shed some light on whether or not their coach reached an A+ rating and stayed there in the off-season. If that doesn't happen, then yes, there is an issue with Coach Integrity.

No broken promises. Nothing that would affect prestige. It just drops at the beginning of the season.
