They have already stated several times that it is a time constraint issue. The features that they HAD to get in where much more crucial to the experience.

Experience? You wanna talk about experience? experience?
I havent had a great experience with Madden since the PS2 days.So I wouldnt call it an experience. Maybe something along the lines of an experiment?
THese features are in every MAJOR sports title on the market except Madden?
And you think its going to be an experience?
THis is like taking maps from FPS's. Or abilities away in RPG's .
And you want to call it an experience?
Sorry Ive just been upset with all these excuses from EA and community peeps .Its just these things is what made us play Madden in dorms or having a Madden Party on release with a 5-10 player co-op Owners Mode in the same place!!! And Madden just keeps taking it away???
SInce this Generation we the gamers have complained about EA catching up to that game from 05 and this is what they do? They take away co-op on one console?? For years Me and my brother have had a co-op on release day Franchise Mode. That Tradition ends this year because of EA'S EXPERIENCE!!
So THank you EA for your experiment.Find out the Truth http://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Heaven...1163314&sr=1-1Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video: Playbooks 5 & 6: Connected Careers
The whole reason they have moved to connected careers is to re-create that madden party effect again. I remember having friends around and we would just play for ages. However we have all gotten jobs, moved houses and it's no longer feasible to go around to someones house and play for 15 hours. Therefore connected careers let's people re-create that experience by being able to play an online franchise/superstar together.Experience? You wanna talk about experience? experience?

On top of that, kids these days aren't having massive madden party's around houses, they're all over the internet instead. So the developers of Madden have obviously seen this and tailored a game to suit the needs of the market. Instead of living in the past, people need to accept that fact that change is inevitable.
I'd bet that if Madden had just kept updating features on the old platform people would complain in 5 years time that they couldn't play online.Comment

and we spend ages over each others houses drinking and playing madden for "ages". People who have played couch co op for years are the people really losing out. Its kinda like a big f u to them. I cant get
into online playing and smack talking some one sitting next to you is just more
fun for me.
On the other hand my brothers who are 15 and 12 always have a 32 man online league with all of their buddies..i guess its an age thing and
"older" madden players like myself are getting left behindComment

Same deal here, me and my friends are a group of 23-25 year olds. Although everyone has just recently started to move away - be that to different suburbs or states. So for us, it's pretty exciting that we can do an online franchise together. Now obviously, it's not great for everyone... right now. However give it 5 years, and I would be people would be crying out for a mode like this. If they hadn't have overhauled it I would put a lot of money on it that the older Madden players would have dropped off. On top of that, the younger ones would have dropped off due to the mode not being suitable to the way they play games now.Eh dont speak for everyone me and 6 of my friends are all 23 to 26 years old

Change involves a few bumpy roads, but I think at the end of it we will come out with the new mode that will keep online and offline people happy.Comment

On a somewhat related not this is the first year NHL will have any type of connected mode and it looks great. Multiple players on the same team playing multiple players of a differnt team. I wonder if they sacrificed anything like player editing and couch co/op? Im guessing the answer is no.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video: Playbooks 5 & 6: Connected Careers
I really feel you on the "experiment" part because I too feel that EA/Tiburon does that quite frequently with Madden. However, for CC in particular, I believe it was more so an oversight about how many gamers still play Franchise together on the same console and the fact that HC09 was only 1 player offline, which was the blueprint for CC, is likely the reason for most of the things not added, including offline co-op. Not to make excuses for EA/Tiburon but it will likely take some tome for them to figure out how to code things like offline co-op, draft classes, editing, etc, into a HC09 system that didn't include those things.Experience? You wanna talk about experience? experience?

I would hope that since they keep saying this is THE mode for the next decade, that the mode is open ended enough to add things like those and more into it going forward.Comment

What would you like to say? I can say "sorry" but I didn't design the game mode. I hope they put it in again in the near future. Outside of that... No one owes anyone an apology. If the game comes out messed up then yes I would like one from EA. Until then, the sun will still come up every morning.Experience? You wanna talk about experience? experience?

I still don't think that because some people are playing online, that isn't a good excuse to cut off offline co-op.Same deal here, me and my friends are a group of 23-25 year olds. I still play offline with my brother in franchise. Plenty of people do. I hope your right that the mode will make everyone happy. I doubt Josh Foolman will bring it back though.Comment

C'mon Strawhat, name calling about someone that has never personally done anything to you, you are better than that. They just moved the guy back onto franchise mode for the making of M12 or something like that because before that he was stuck working on MUT. Now in the first year of this HC09 style CC mode, not making it offline multiplayer for whatever reason doesn't justify insults.I still don't think that because some people are playing online, that isn't a good excuse to cut off offline co-op.
