Bowl Bound College Football
Is anyone still playing this. I have thought about getting it back out.Tags: None -
Re: Bowl Bound College Football
Guess not. However, I think I am going to bring this back out. With so many issues with 13...bowl bound gives an outstanding sim game. -
Re: Bowl Bound College Football
Yea, some of the mods are outdated, but you can still download for the current colors/logos for the teams. As far as bowls, yea are outdated, but it gives you the option of using a playoff system (wished I did this when I started).
As far as conference moves....again you can edit anything you want. Also, set the CPU to make moves...and teams move at random... depends on how often is up to you.
This is by far the best sim game for the college game out there. Last nite, I have this RB coming in for a visit, and he is from my old high school. It has every HS listed and how many players are in the college ranks. Again, the most indepth game there is. Also, you can edit anything you like about the players rating/names.
Yes, a little dated as far as the bowls, but other than that....has so much more to offer.
Also, there is no way you are going to win the NC with a team like Akron in 2 years or most likely never.Comment

Re: Bowl Bound College Football
I was actually able to find an updated mod with recent bowls and conferences on the grey dog website.
Also, is there anyway that I can make a CB play WR without changing his position? I would like to possibly create a 2way player like a Charles Woodson!Last edited by Jukeman; 07-25-2012, 02:12 PM.Comment

Re: Bowl Bound College Football
Never tried it, but I think you can go to your depth chart and find the guy you want and put him in. Remember, players actually get tired ....this is not ncaa where a guy sees every snap of the ball. You might be a little safer to put him as a nickle back or dime package.
Finishing up the bowl games for this year. Haven't updated my dynasty page due work.Comment

I went into the depth chart and tried to place a CB into a WR slot but it didn't let me, I don't know if its because I am using the demo or not tho.
And do you have a link to your dynasty page? I'll follow.Comment

Re: Bowl Bound College Football
Yea...you might be right about the Demo. If I was in a place I could change my depth chart I would...but in the middle of Bowl games...and got a lot of players banged up.
The Dynasty is here in the Operation Forums under the Dynasty page toward the bottomComment

I like how the playoff system is set up in this game. Its adds another level off difficulty.
1. You have to try and win enough conference games to go to the conf champ game (if have one)
2. Win conf champ game to qualify for the playoffs along with 15 others.
3. Schedule a good non conf schedule (and win) so if you do make the playoffs, you'll get a higher seed.
All of that and you dont even lose the Bowl games (playoffs are tied in)
Real life NCAA should use this exact format!Comment

Re: Bowl Bound College Football
I agree. I only wished I had set up my dynasty for playoffs. If I decide to start a new one (or another - you can do more than one), then I will. Just won the Gator Bowl in my dynasty and getting ready to go into the off season.
The only thing I wished is that the recruiting was more hands on...where you had more input to how the recruiting was done. NCAA is good, but still has so many areas that need improved.
Still....it is good. I think I have landed this kid from my old high school (South Point High) in Belmont NC. He is ranked the 3rd best RB in the nation and is very high on my Tarheels.Comment

Re: Bowl Bound College Football
Yes, the playoff is nice, but the game goes much deeper than that. If you are a stats nut, and want to have more hands on as far as coach....then it is a very good game. If you are more of the thumb jockey...it is a no no. There really no in between. You can "play the game" so to speak...meaning you can call the play and see the text results.
The thing I like most about the game is you get more involved with your players. Had my best DT get in a car accident. Had guys get sick before the game, a couple of guys not make the grade and put on probation for 3 weeks. You get an update ratings every 3 weeks. Just so much detail.Comment
