Re: Madden NFL 13 Video - Kinect Integration Walkthrough
I wrote that guy telling him I thought he was wrong and he cited a Kotaku article quoting a VG producer explaining why ME3 only had it on the 360.
Not sure where to go with such hard evidence contrary to my point

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video - Kinect Integration Walkthrough
The people in the video were saying it's never been done before, and people were saying NFL Gameday 2004 had it which is why I mentioned it.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video - Kinect Integration Walkthrough
sorry I'm at work so this post might seemed rushed... butThat's interesting if true. Most speech recognition technology is software driven, maybe this explains why Kinects is so poor compared to something like Dragon Naturally Speaking.
In fact a quick google search suggest that it is software driven so not sure if the source giving you that answer Steve is accurate.
EDIT: Just digging a little deeper because this stuff interest me. The Kinect has a a 4 microphone array with processor for noise suppression and acoustic source localization. However the speech recognition is most definitively software driven according to about 3 article I just glanced at.
something seems fishy here.... I thought Microsoft dropped the processor for the final design.
and the PSEYE also has a 4 microphone array if you check the specs.
but I thought the voice recognition was all software.....Sony also has voice recognition built into their SDKs I believe...but it might not be as easy to work with as Microsoft's software.
This is from 3 years ago..

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video - Kinect Integration Walkthrough
I don't know about that, nor do I know what the MP really does..I doubt anyone does. I just know you can find a dozen tutorials on implementing voice recognition for the Kinect and they all reference several MS SDK's for creating grammar libraries.
It's entirely possible that they way the Xbox / 360 is set up the microprocessor assist in the voice recognition but that is an entirely different statement than.
" Kinect has a microprocessor inside that processes speech"
That's the part I don't buy, sorry.<a href="http://www.operationsports.com/Danimal/blog/6756-going-old-school-v1/">Read my blog Going Old School v1 GridIron! football.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video - Kinect Integration Walkthrough
It is better implemented than I thought it would be.
I can see having fun utilizing this feature more so on the defensive side of it.
I will definitely give it a try. May give me a reason to finally use my kinect.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video - Kinect Integration Walkthrough
With 2 different 'system on a chip' solutions in the Kinect, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Marvell assisted with the audio processing. Either way, the SDK is most certainly the key to putting it all together.
The Kinect is a horizontal bar of sensors connected to a small base with a motorized pivot, and is designed to be positioned lengthwise below the...

This is an excellent addition for many folks. It suits both hardcore and casual. Most importantly it fits well with folks with a disability such as my man from Madden Challenge "Packwolf" who no longer is able to use both hands. It's that many less commands that folks with a disability such as his are required to do with their hands. This could also go a lot further than just playcalling and audibling in the future I would imagine.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Video - Kinect Integration Walkthrough
To the bold part... If you can I will go out this week and get a Kinect again...I didn't really understand why they covered him the way it did. The video looked like it was a coverage audible for the selected defender, which was a OLB on the opposite side of the field from Harvin, no wonder he didn't get there in time to help out. I wonder if you can alter you coverage and have a non-selected player go and apply extra coverage (like pull a FS out of zone coverage to double a WR, but the currently selected defender being a DL)?
Probably will anyways.Last edited by Skyboxer; 07-26-2012, 09:33 PM.Joshua:

World we live in now though..
I personally don't ever play online ranked games etc.. but understand I'm not the center of the universe and others do use it. So I can understand why it's there and not a waste.Last edited by Skyboxer; 07-27-2012, 01:23 AM.Joshua:
