How is a MLB player's height measured?

Do they round up or down?

Are cleats worn at the time, like they do with NBA players (shoes in their case)?

From their feet to the top of their head

In all seriousness I don't believe there is an exact science. There are always players listed at a certain height or weight and you know its wrong, and sometimes you'll hear announcers mention it. "Player X is listed at 5'10'', but I think they might have squeezed an inch in for him."

Most people prefer to use measuring tape.

I can't imagine they count cleats, they cut into the ground.
