Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine

It's not that I care about cadences, but I am confused. I thought that EA and Josh Looman stated that they were not going to be putting in half complete features in Madden anymore? 12 out of 32 is less than half. EA even had RGIII there for a photo shoot, so I would imagine that he should be one of the 32, but probably isn't. So if you take out the two rookies who will start it is still 12 is still not half of 30.

So which is it? We are not going to put in half way complete features, or we will when we can market it?

At this point is where I start to agree with Scoonie5, of all people, that at what point do we stop acting surprised about this stuff. I engage in discussion about this stuff in hopes that someone will present a POV that somehow makes these things make sense for developing Madden into the most realistic NFL video game to date, like EA/Tiburon claims they want to. However, that may also be playing right into part of some ingenious marketing plan to keep us engaged with Madden by promising realism but intentionally falling just short.

No matter how many good points anyone makes about why Madden should be more NFL realistic than what it is, it will not change the fact that Madden is whatever it is.

"It's in the game" should be changed to "Open mouth, insert foot" for their next campaign.

I don't know about comments from any other EA developers, but in the case of Josh Looman I believe he was referring to Connected Careers-specific features. At least that's how I had interpreted it.

            But still, a valid point.

OS is supposed to be about constructive criticism, which imo is the best kind of criticism because anything else is basically just complaining and venting. So at the point we realize that our intended constructive criticism is not having the desired effect, it's essentially no longer constructive. I am currently having a dilemma in how to approach discussions about improving Madden because I apparently want a different game then EA/Tiburon is going to provide. However, the problem is that EA/Tiburon takes every opportunity to claim that they are trying to provide that game, which is simply not backed up by the facts.

So I really understand the EAGCs and CE attendees stance of doing the best they can with what they have to work with but it sucks realizing that EA/Tiburon is way more cunning than me. lol. They have us right by the short and curlies because for them it's all about money but for us it's about personal enjoyment. So they essentially were able to corner the market on a pastime in NFL gaming and then do whatever they see fit to make the most money with it. Now I see how Neo felt in The Matrix, when he woke and realized in the real world he was just a dispensable organic battery. lol

I'm not going to be mad at EA for getting an exclusive license to make money just like I'm not mad at Coca Cola for not giving out their recipe. I do think Madden games need a lot of improvement. I think CC and IE are steps in the right direction
Yes, chandler will catch westbrook from behind on a fast break and block his shot "lebron style". LOL I think they'll bring back crew and name it something else like EA do

If you don't have a blog on your views of EA/Tiburon, then by all means start one bro. You pretty much put it perfectly and composed what most of us sputter to get out because we are frustrated after years of dealing with the same issues from this company.

I will say something positive about the entire thing. In watching these videos, I believe they are headed in the right direction for the first time in years. The team appears to have drive and a level head. What we need is the same team to recognize all 32 teams and the atmosphere of each stadium and critical game.

While the infinity engine is a nice much needed upgrade, I think the next generation will be the true test of this teams talent and direction. Either it's the tools/engines they built coming into this generation that are lacking, or it's the teams talent. I think we will truly find out next generation.

Remember and I will even take into consideration of the teams changes. David Ortiz started this gen out, and his work never impressed me and always had Madden based more for tournament players, than actual NFL fans. The changing of the guard has happened quite a bit, so lets hope we can finally get a game we all love at some point. I am hoping this gen that we get something.
