I think this may be the first time in about 3 years I don't end up with both games. I am really impressed with the demo.

Re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
I can't believe how much I've been playing the demo. I thought it was coming out next month, but I just realized that it drops on my birthday in September. Seems like a long wait to play the full version.
It'll be interesting to see how much the the second demo changes from this one. I really hope they don't try to reinvent the wheel because I can't remember enjoying a soccer game so much. I already like it more than Fifa 12 from what I've played, so the other game will have to come correct if it's going to make me change my preorder.
I'm finally scoring some points now, so I'm happy about how I'm progressing. I had a sick goal the other day and meant to record it, but my camera was out of juice at the moment. I actually jumped out of my seat and let out a crazy yell because I was so hyped up lol. Such a fun game.Comment

Having a blast myself as most of you. I've been playing Fifa 12 to death but I think that this demo is better already. Love the little things. The engine, the collisions, animations - just seem better to me. The biggest thing is my teammates AI - they are way intelligent than the competition's.NBAComment

I came on here just to see if it was just me that as loving the demo? I guess not, haha. The game is absolutely fantastic in my opinion. The fact that it's the first demo is only a bonus really, this game is what I've been crying out for, it actually represents real life Football. FIFA's gameplay is a joke. If anyone think it accurately represents real life Football then they're deluded.
I must admit I didn't buy PES2012 and I opted for FIFA12 but I think that's going to change this year, looking forward to the second demo.Comment

I think the demo is really great it just requires a bit of commitment to see the best of it. It isn't flashy or in your face with it's improvements.

Same here. The demo has me sold, auto-purchase for me. And I'll definitely be sticking with FIFA 12 this year. Feels good, I missed having a PES game to play the past year.
One thing: Are other people experiencing an inordinate number of CPU lobbed passes? That's how the CPU attempts to get past my backline defenders pretty much every other time they attack. Either I'm doing something wrong, or that's game coding that needs some tweaking before release day.Comment

yeah. I've noticed this. Doesn't seem too bad though. Slight tweaking would be goodSame here. The demo has me sold, auto-purchase for me. And I'll definitely be sticking with FIFA 12 this year. Feels good, I missed having a PES game to play the past year.

Ok so played last night like every night since the demo dropped... Ronaldo dashes toward goal, I switch to Terry. Ronaldo stops, does his step over, I fall down with Terry, he goes over and chips Hart. My reaction:

I had a similar humbling at the hands of CR7. Playing as Germany on top player, Ronaldo skinned Boateng on the right flank, leaving him 1v1 with Mertesacker. Yeah, that didn't go so well, and a charging Neuer was left for dead by a fake shot before he slotted home.

Re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Someone suggested it could be level related. So I upped the difficulty, and sure enough the lobbed stuff has more or less vanished.
After getting past the issues I had with the game's looks, I have one word for this demo: mind-blowing. Okay, two words really because it's so good it needs the added emphasis: Mind. Blowing.
EDIT: I should mention: the big reason I've started to really enjoy the game is that I switched to the player cam. It feels like you're right there on the pitch, so the lack of commentary and loud ball thump is no longer a distraction, and the game's atmosphere feels perfectly right. You also get to see an up-close view of all the varied player movements and little nuances that are in the game, like moving cameras behind the goals. It's mind-blowing... or did I mention that already?Last edited by Yeats; 07-30-2012, 11:51 AM.Comment

I put FIFA 12 on just now and I literally couldn't play past 1 half of a game. It's just not on PES' level in terms of gameplay. FIFA is an arcade game, PES is a SIMULATION and I love it already. I'm just hoping this enthusiasm remains after the next demo.Comment

Re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Not wanting to start a war and I love FIFA 12, but here are two simple examples of why you're correct, and why people say PES feels organic, and that anything can happen. This is what I'm seeing in the demo:
1. CPU clearances upfield go into space, sometimes to your player standing alone. In FIFA, CPU clearances are auto-programmed to always find a CPU player, after which you have to move your man into postion to jump for the ball and try and steal it away.
2. I shot on goal; it hit the GK in the right shoulder, then hit his arm, deflecting right to my striker who popped it into the goal. I had this momentary sense of shock and surprise as I saw the ball come loose and my striker standing there. It was glorious. In FIFA, bounces like that are pre-programmed where they'll end up; there's no sense of surprise or wonder or anything pertaining to real-world physics. The goalie will for example inexplicably punch the ball out when he doesn't and shouldn't have to, right onto the awaiting foot of an attacking player.
Night and day, that's what we've got goin' here.Comment

Re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
It's hard to go back to FIFA12 after playing this demo. Everything just feels generic, flat, and predicable. I still will get FIFA13 but if this game is as solid as it seems now then we'll have a repeat of 2011 where the game lived in my disc tray.Comment
