False. The names will work, but any other changes made will reverse back to the default roster. Ex. If "6'2" 185lb WR#13 79 OVR" for a team is changed to "5'9" 175lb CB#37 87 OVR" when played in an online ranked match you'll have a WR named CB#37 who is 6'2 185lb 79OVR.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 OS Community Rosters Available Now, Details Included (PS3)
Did you guys go through each team and correct all the misspelled names? That's the only thing keeping me from taking these and running with my dynasty. Just way too many wrong names per team.
And you also got another guy in the roster forums taking credit for your rosters, calling them his because he might have made a few changes. Hard to claim when his roster has all the misspelled names too.
I could be wrong, it might just be the biggest coincidence in the history of man that he has all those players names misspelled the exact same way.Comment

I'll go through a few lower level teams and see what the average per team is.
I don't understand why you guys are waiting on corrections/updates to be posted instead of going through and updating each team the best you can. Because no one is ever going to post you updates for Ball States, UTSA's, North Texas', UTEPs, Memphis, or schools like that. You're going to have an unbalanced roster with around 30 teams updated and the rest not. Freshmen need to be rerated for each team.Comment

Freshman were rerated, we have been given corrections for UTSA and North Texas, the information I received from a NT fan has been fairly more accurate than a lot of other suggestions we received. It's a community roster for a reason, your assumptions that we don't do anything without someone telling us is though is fairly unfounded, there has been several unlisted edits.I'll go through a few lower level teams and see what the average per team is.

Re: NCAA Football 13 OS Community Rosters Available Now, Details Included (PS3)
Considering we changed the freshman and players around and adjusted them based on their rivals ratings and still do when we remove vets that are buried on the DC, the answer would be yes. All teams have seen edits, believe or not. Spelling errors happen, the best we can do is apologize and correct them, trashing the rosters for human error across other topics is pointless. If your constructive and help us to fix the errors, it gets done faster as a joint process. Otherwise we will find them when we go back over teams.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Ok 1) I'm not trashing the rosters. If that was my plan, I wouldn't even be posting here. As there is one other PS3 roster out that is actually correct for the most part on spelling names. Yes human error happens, but it happened a little too much here. Naming rosters correctly is the name of the task. If it was a few names here and there, I wouldn't have said a word and just corrected them myself. So understand where I'm coming from, when I go to my team, the very popular Gators and there is 7 misspelled names, it is time to worry what other teams look like.
2) I'm here because I believe that these will be the best set put out on the PS3 because they are being updated. ALL IM TRYING TO DO is figure out how you guys are editing/updates and whos input is being used and to what extent.
-Taking a fan of that team's edit can be on the bias side when it comes to ratings.
-I was wondering if the only corrections being made were the ones posted. A question that has been answered for me now.
3) For the rosters to be the best, the smaller teams should be shown as much love as the bigger teams.
4) I point out the spelling errors and I am being told the same automated answer "To post corrections here and they will be corrected". The only reason I don't do that with the spellings is because it would be almost as time consuming as naming the rosters from start, than to go through each team and make sure names are correctly. That is why I keep asking if you guys are going to got through and edit each team in depth using your on knowledge and sources mixed with the input from posted corrections. If so, there is no need for me to go through each team and make sure players are correct.
And as for UTSA. I believe that I posted in the corrections thread a while back that QB Cole Laufer is named CADE Laufer. A correction that still hasn't been made.Comment

Again we apologize for any mistakes and we are doing out best to fix them as quickly as possible. For example, all the Florida misspellings have been fixed.

We do research before making any changes. Most of what is posted is accurate, but not all of it so we double check everything.
-I was wondering if the only corrections being made were the ones posted. A question that has been answered for me now.
Yes, I know that I personally have made multiple edits that were not posted.
3) For the rosters to be the best, the smaller teams should be shown as much love as the bigger teams.
In preparation for this roster set I put just as much if not more effort into the smaller teams. The problem is there are not as many fans of smaller teams to post corrections. Unfortuantely, there is nothing we can do about that.
4) I point out the spelling errors and I am being told the same automated answer "To post corrections here and they will be corrected". The reason you keep getting that answer is because it seems you keep talking about misspellings but rarely give us specific examples. Being told that there is a problem doesn't really help. We need to know what the problem is so we can adress it. We are examing each team as we go through the rosters. The problem with the misspellings is that we don't have everyone's name memorized. We may glance at a player and not recognize that the name is misspelled because we may not know much about that specific player. That is what the correction thread is for.
And as for UTSA. I believe that I posted in the corrections thread a while back that QB Cole Laufer is named CADE Laufer. A correction that still hasn't been made.
That will be fixed in the next update. Thank you.
If you really feel that misspellings are a problem, the best way you could help us is to go through teams that have not already been corrected in the corrections thread and give us feedback on mistakes.Tennessee Volunteers

Re: NCAA Football 13 OS Community Rosters Available Now, Details Included (PS3)
If you want my real help, make me part of the team. Because I'm not going to be giving you small, minor, incomplete edits and fixes. I'll be going more in depth than you prob even want too. I have 17 places where I get my info such as up to date depth charts, injuries, transfers, and stats for the past 5 years.
-UTSA FB Shaw is a SO.
-And was Maryland LB Kenny Tate not on the game's original rosters? He needs some ratings changes and number too. I'd take #6 off of Perry and put #5 on him, 6 on Tate.
When you drop your last roster, you should make a list of changes that can be made back by the USER a year or so into dynasty. For example:
-Change Maryland CB Tony Perry from #5 to #6 in 2013 after LB Kenny Tate graduates.
And what teams are pretty much finalized? You got a list somewhere?Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 OS Community Rosters Available Now, Details Included (PS3)
These rosters are fraud. And stolen. This is the same community rosters from here at OS.
You should pay attention, these guys rosters at OS have a ton of misspelled names. So it makes copying them and calling them your own fool proof.
Man I was hoping this would be an updated, correctly spelled roster.
Where in that, is there any sort of assistance or any sign of 'not trashing'. You made a few posts that were 50/50, but it's largely passive aggressive 'hating'.
If there are so many issues, than post them, your making blanket statements without providing any facts. You've posted eight corrections to spelling, one of which I forgot to add to the spreadsheet which is Cade Laufer.
When other people have said that most of the smaller schools really don't have those issues. Defend/point out where your drawing your facts from and 'hating' becomes constructive. Otherwise it's not at all.
You get mechanical answers because your asking questions we've answered for you, we are going over things on our own as well, it gets done faster when the community aids the process, if they choose not to, than it simply just takes longer.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Re: NCAA Football 13 OS Community Rosters Available Now, Details Included (PS3)
The first two quotes you chose are not even from this thread. They are from a thread of a guy who has copied your rosters calling them his own. What I said was just proving that they were not his rosters because of the same identical mistakes. That wasn't trashing your roster at all. It was my way of proving that these rosters were someone else's.Where in that, is there any sort of assistance or any sign of 'not trashing'. But whatever man, Saying that there are a lot of spelling errors isnt "hating". It is stating the fact that there are a lot of spelling errors. Hating would be calling them garbage or calling the effort garbage instead of trying to help you out. If I was trashing the rosters, I wouldn't be trying to help out or offering up ideas.
Your mechanical answer is ridiculous. I say "hey man there is a lot of misspelled names on the rosters". You basically say "Well go through each team and list them for me to correct". That is a very large task for someone who wasn't in on naming these rosters from the start. I don't think you understand the time it would take to do that.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 OS Community Rosters Available Now, Details Included (PS3)
And the smaller schools have just as many issues, if not more than the bigger schools. Just because one person told you that doesn't make it true at all. There aren't going to be a lot of knowledgeable corrections put out on those smaller schools. I saw one post where one single correction was made for a UTSA player, ignoring the other corrections needed for that team.
And I went through 5 teams. Every spelling error made was the type of error made where the person inputting the name wasn't looking at the name itself. Like Jeff Driskel having two Ls instead of one. Or Hunter Joyer being Joyner. Simple errors made in your head by rushing. So if the entire roster set was named this way, there is sure to be many of the same errors. That is common sense. I went through 5 schools and saw enough errors to stop and speak. That's it. Im not bashing your work, I've named rosters over 5 times. I know the work it takes. I also know how and why errors are made. I have done it all myself. The first time I did them on NCAA 2004, it was a train wreck.Comment
