Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Executive Produced by Jay Z

Jay Z executive producing 2k13 and all anybody can talk about is the soundtrack? Really? I'll say no more at the moment and see if anyone can figure out where I'm going with this and what it potentially means for your beloved 2k franchise.

Not one person (well maybe 1 or 2 who were ignored) in this thread sees all the angles associated with this. Interesting.

What part of "Executive Producer" refers to the soundtrack for NBA 2k13?

What that means is that he gave VISUAL CONCEPTS a certain amount of money so he can give some input into the game. It's obvious that his product (Music) will be in the game as an incentive for providing said money.

      I hate to speculate but...
Maybe it's a new mode involving GMs and owners from how to "market™" a team to running your business from the ground up®

Everybody should start to learn how to bend over, because 2k and Visual concepts will need as much space as possible, just so you they can shove an exuberant amount of DLC up your a$$.

Here I am. The jaded old man that used to write down stats in a notebook...because the art of digital stat saving did not exist (1989).

I'm tired of these year-to-year updates. I'd understand if NBA LIVE and 2K were operating systems but they are hardly a new innovative-doo-hickey that blows the minds of every little seven-year old around the world.

So the dunks look like they are 5FPS smoother than the previous year. Do we all have to spend $60 every year for the same crap! (Rhetorical).

Sorry to be this guy...I used to remember when playing an 82 game season was all I looked forward to. Maybe I over did it with the basketball video games. Maybe the learning curve is entirely too high for and old geezer like me? I've often wondered if my lack of skill, was the detrimental factor to my success, or lack thereof.

Am I crazy to say that trying to play defense and trying to pass the ball is harder than Chinese algebra?

      Sincerely,
      Arthritis Thumbs

seems odd that there would be under armor sponsorship in game when adidas pretty much runs the sport....

over-react much, I am sure Jay did not have to pay to be in a video game, 2k is just trying to reach as much people as possible.

2k has always had good soundtracks. 2k has actually has opened me to alot of artists I would have never heard of. Im talking about those indie rock acts. 2
Jay Z being the executive producer of their soundtrack may be a good thing. Im sure he has a wide range of artists that will appear on the soundtrack. It probably wont stray away from the 2k formula.

Man I hope so, cause if this is the BIG announcement, I am going to be a pissed off black man.

They should make Jay Z the 2K Insider. It would be an upgrade at least.

Dude...best soundtrack was when they had that Redman/Busta Rhymes beat...THE ONLY song in the game. Honestly I'd be ok with that again. Worry about online servers and maybe LOBBIES.

Not really. Under Armour just became an official NBA sponsor (meaning they can use NBA players in ads) this past year to join Reebok, Nike, Converse, Jordan Brand, and Adidas. It was the Jordan Brand Player of the Game, etc. Adidas is the only one that gets specific accessories other than shoes.
