    edit:

I mean, if you look at it, Romo killed it last year. In past Maddens, he'd probably get a 94-95 OVR with that performance. But this year, he's only a 90. So I don't think the ratings are overdone at all from what I'm seeing.
The thing that bothers me with the spread is that there is not a big difference between the 1st tier elite QBs and the 2nd tier very goog QBs. There is a much larger difference in the skill between Eli and Brees than 1 OVR. If Brees and Brady are 98, then Eli, Ben, and Romo should all be around a 92, still very good, but far enough away from the elite players that there is a noticable difference in who is good and who is great

What's the issue? I'm just giving my take on the conversion. Sorry if that's so bad.

If it's because it's off-topic, then yeah, I will "stop".

Under. More like O/U 14.5 minutes. The edit player complaint threads are going to absolutely explode again come release day.

              Eli Manning is a 97??

              5 seasons with more than 15 int's
              Career QB rating of 82.1
              Career completion % of 58
67 fumbles in his career, only 6 less than Vick (who has nearly 600 more rushing attempts)
Only once in his career has he thrown for more than 30 td's
Never won a single season MVP

And EA is telling me this guy is mere points away from three of the best QB's in the league today?? He has played great in the Super Bowl I will give him his credit but so did Mario Manningham should he be a 97 for the WR?? And herein lies the problem with not being able to edit rosters.

Based on what happened Matt Cassel between M9 and M10, Matt Flynn should be at an 88 or 89 this year, smh.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Player Ratings - Top 10 Quarterbacks

The Spread is just fine. Every QB will have their Strengths and Weaknesses. Just because they're 90 plus OVR doesn't mean they will always hit their target, or throw 60 yard bombs down the field. Some players can throw on the run better than others.. Some players have better arms than others. Some are more accurate than others in certain aspects of the field (Short, Medium, and Deep). Also, other ratings make the player rated higher. Like speed strength, acceleration, etc. etc. etc. Do you think Tim Tebow is rated the way he is cause he can throw the football? HELL NO! He has all those attrubutes of a HB as well... so his rating is boosted.

Give these ratings a chance. Remember, the Overall rating of a player doesn't tell the whole story.

                    Flynn should be a 79/80. 88 or 89 LOL I don't think they'd go that far...

I don't want a game that looks like crap and plays like crap, because that wouldn't be fun. We still have arcade style games anyways. Hell, what am I saying, Madden pretty much is EA's own arcade version of the NFL.
                      This
I think Madden really needs to step it's game up in the area of gameplay and being as authentic as it can possibly be to the nfl.

                        LOL Vick and his 18 TD's 14 INT's 59.8 completion percentage and 10 fumbles....

Should be ahead of Romo's 4,184 yards 31 TD's 10 INT's 66.3 completion percentage and 6 fumbles, 4th best passer rating in the league, 3rd best completion percentage in the league (ahead of Brady).

Hell Vick is incredibly fortunate to even be on this list! Romo should be ahead of Rivers and Big Ben!

Stafford at 91? Most of his stats are dependent on the cover man, Calvin Johnson. Ugh reason, #231 why overalls need a complete overhaul or removed.

Then Rivers & Vick coming off bad season should be no more than 86-88 going by typical Madden standards...80-84 if going by stricter more spread out ratings like it should be to differentiate the good from the great. Then of course they can update the roster depending on how they play throughout the year.

It's time to adopt the Abilities System, a combination of that and ratings or just something different. Eli is not a 97 QB but he's Clutch, Durable and has a special kind of Leadership ability while being a bit INT prone at times though.

There needs to be a big gap between the top 3 QBs and the rest

no way in hell should Roethlisberger be 95 if Brees is 98. it's just stupid. dude averages 20 TD per year and had just 21 last season

Brees has two 5,000 yard seasons
Roethlisberger has two 4,000 yard seasons

they shouldn't be close at all.
