THIS is the big announcement??? Yea only if your a Jay-Z die hard... which I am not (Nas fan). Very disappointed 2k!!! EA finally beat them at something because the Infinity Engine was a real BIG announcement. At least I get to save $59.99

That's what I've been saying!!!! Physics, foot planting are the only things worthy of an announcement. I hate using this but "more of the same" is starting to come true. smh

LOL. 70-80% of NBA2k's soundtracks have always been rap/hip-hop. The same as this year.

Bottom line is the game is 7 weeks away and there will be plenty of videos, blog posts and screenshots for people. Today wasnt a day for OSers...its was for the casual fan.

That definitely needs to be kept in mind in the forefront

I only half agree here

I think they really shouldn't go on with the announcement stuff like this man come on... when its info time and you put that out there its done intentionally

On the other hand these dudes make this type of disappointment even bigger by carrying on for days and days when its not even that serious

I mean I wasn't going bananas over this either way, but Jay Z and sound tracks nobody would expect to consider that the biggest news ever and throwing MJs name in there along with it

They didnt carry on for "days and days". Ronnie 2k is their marketing guy. He's paid to hype up announcements. He's always extra excited about every 2k game even **** like MLB2k. Why? Because he's paid to do that.

Again, I will clarify it's more than simply a soundtrack. We'll be detailing more in the future.

Great more stay tuned for more announcements. Let me guess, at the all-star game you have a guitar hero mode where you can play 99 lives and make Jay Z rap for the halftime show.

Wish Meek's song wasn't the instrumental version, although the beat is sick.

I'm sorry but if you were expecting something like foot planting to be a big announcement then you need to check your definition of big.

Announcing that one of the most famous rappers out there as well as a partial owner of the Nets is helping as an executive producer is a big announcement. Maybe it's not what we wanted but what do you think would generate a headline, "2k IMPLEMENTS FOOTPLANTING!" or "JAY Z SIGNS ON TO BE AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF NBA 2k".

I agree 100% its not like this is the only feature that will be ever announced 2K has always hyped stuff up early then came with the features in the dev diarys closer to release. I for one think it will be awesome to have authentic music integrated into the ingame imo.

And lets be honest crew returning and numerous gameplay improvements can still be lurking but on a social level Jay Z moves the needle and lets people know 2K13 is coming heavy this year.

It's not about screenshots, videos, blogs. It's just the fact that 2k hyped it up, and it wasn't even worth a glance. I'm not disappointed I actually like it. And the people that follow ronnie2k I doubt are casual gamers, you are right this is for a casual fan, it's just that they don't really check for update,insights, tweets or gameplay videos. But It's not announcement worth in my book.

They will always be disappointed if they arent a fan of rap. The soundtracks are always mostly rap.

Its completely worth an announcement. Its ridiculous that you don't think a partnership with perhaps one of the most famous musicians in the world isnt worth an announcement.
