I just hope the moments like this are minimized in the final version. It's not too bad, it just looks awkward.

I think Tiburon feels like they are doing the best. I truly believe they don't see a problem with alot of the things they do.

Which has always been the gift and the curse with this developer. If they did something we all like, we will hear about how good it is for years and they will ride it into the next generation, if they don't live up to the hype, then they cry, lie, and deny then "replace" team members and institute a 3 year plan then rinse and repeat when the hour glass is about to be tipped.

RG3... the new Michael Vick of Madden for cheesers everywhere.

That is in no way directed to the Redskins fans that actually want to use their new QB.

I can say if they addressed line play and running animations with Madden 13, and then came to us next year with the Infinity engine. I would have been more impressed. I feel the infinity engine is cool, but it's in a early stage, and that is all what we are going to experience.
If they would have done line interaction 1st then you would have people screaming about no physics. Lose/lose scenario.

And they will still be terrible and lose to real players like me everytime.

Idk, I think the initial hype and excitement wouldn't be the same as physics, but if the blocking logic and line interaction had been done properly, I think it would be something people appreciated in the long run once they saw footage and played the game. It doesn't have the "wow" factor of physics, but I think people would have appreciated it.

I disagree primarily because I believe that you can create a fantastic looking football game without physics if you have a great catalog of animations. If you have an extensive and great catalog of animations physics is ice cream added to a cake that already has icing on it.

I agree that people would complain no matter wat but line play has been a long time legacy issuse, if they would have fixed that first i dont think anyone would have even expected physics. Fans have asked for physics for a long time before this year and never got it. They just would have chalked it up as another year.

I wish they would have fixed line play this year then added the infinity engine to the line play and tackling next year. I just think that would have been a more realistic approach to it.

I was one of the biggest advocates for physics. However, the more videos I see the less I see the effect. Physics can certainly be a game changer if done correctly. I am hoping the final product represents this new physics engine well but I am skeptical because of Madden's recent past.

Right now, it actually appears the new passing and catching animations have a bigger effect on Madden then the infinity engine. I am hoping to really be wow'd when I get my hands on the demo/retail version.

I agree with you. Even though its run time and not real time physics i was expecting to see a difference in the tackling. However i see the same old tackles ive been seeing for the past 4 or 5 years. Its seems like the new engine only effects ball carriers who are up in the air via a hurdle or jumping catch and players who are around a tackle, so instead of the tumbleweeds we have seen falling over for years they fall over more realisticly.

I think the best and perhaps most overlooked part of the new engine is the new stumble mechanic.

Maybe, idk. Line play was a top priority for me. I gets so old watching players online use the 1 5 5 shake or setting up ridiculous nanos to get pressure because a normal 4 man rush isn't effective. Dealing with these tactics really takes what little football strategy Madden has right out of the game, imo. I have no desire to deal with that another year.

Not really. No one was even aware of a new physics engine coming or that we would get one in this current gen, but they were very aware of line play needing to be fixed.

I also now understand that maybe it could not go that route due to the fact that a solid physics engine needs to be in place , so we can have solid line interaction.

Hey before you know it we will be weeks away from E3 2013 and looking at the new line play for 14.

As they buy the game because now JPP and Aldon Smith can shred scrub tackles and human walls on the offensive line create a virtual wall for their QB?

Line play + Read and React = I buy M13.

                                No lie.

I imagine many others would be just as happy with it, especially with EA blowing it out marketing-wise and re-highlight the fact they brought in a former NFL OL to help, etc, etc.

Not saying physics isn't going to do anything for the game, but I think those two features would have removed much of the problems many had with M12 (bad line play and psychic defenders).
