The Appalachian Trail: App. State NCAA 13 Dynasty

Appalachian State Mountaineers Dynasty- The Appalachian Trail
    Difficulty: All-American
    Recruiting: Heisman
    Sliders: Authentic's All-American sliders
    Quarter Length: 8 minutes
Rosters: OS Community Roster Set (CK11)

NCAA Commissioner MarylandMan has officially released the new conference changes in place for this monumental 2012-2013 season. Here is a list of all of the conference changes:

    Syracuse, Pittsburgh moved to ACC
Boise State, Navy, UCF, Houston, SMU, Memphis, Air Force, San Diego State moved to Big East
UTSA, Louisiana Tech, FIU, and North Texas moved to Conference USA
    Army moved to MAC
    BYU moved to Big East
Texas State moved to Sun Belt
    Army moved to WAC
    BYU moved to the MWC

Also, in shocking late-breaking news, UMASS's AD called for a press conference to announce that they did not have the resources to move to the D1-FBS. Therefore, a new replacement team had to be found to answer the call. After some careful consideration, Appalachian State declares themselves a D1-FBS school and joined the MAC as a football-only member.

          A New Era for Football
Coach Jerry Moore Is Optimistic For New Season

AP (Boone, NC)- With the new season coming up very soon, Appalachian State has already laid the groundwork needed to become an FBS-level school. They have added 18 student athletes to their board. These include 17 student athletes whose top school is ASU, and 1 who has Kentucky ahead of the Mountaineers on his interest list.

The Mountaineers offense is based on the Spread. Coach Jerry Moore leans towards the run, and his starting QB Jamal Jackson does as well. He is a balanced QB but he loves using Option plays like the Speed Option. He has a decent arm too, and he has a good WR Core led by 70 Overall WR Tony Washington. It also features 68 Overall WR Andrew Peacock, and 64 Overall WR Sean Price.

Steven Miller leads the rushing attack into 2012 with his 69 overall rating and 86 speed rating. He is backed up by Rod Chisholm and Michael Frazier, who are 64 and 59 overall, respectively. Chisholm is a 84 speed back, and Frazier has a speed rating of 85, slightly beating out Chisholm. HB Rommel Andrews might play a few snaps at HB, and is officially listed 4th on the Depth Chart. He has a speed of 81 and is 56 overall at that position. He is alright but is not going to break any NCAA records at HB.

On the defensive side of the ball, Coach Moore runs a stout 3-4 defense. The defensive unit is led by MLB Jeremy Kinbrough. He is the highest rated player on the team. Look for him to have a good season. CB Demetrius McCray is no slouch either. He is a 79 overall balanced CB with 90 speed, and should be a playmaker who will run with the faster WRs that App. State might face.

This might be a hard year for ASU to adapt. Here are our Predictions for ASU's 2012-2013 season-

          vs. Washington L
          at #9 Michigan L
          vs. Army L
          at Bowling Green L
          vs. Idaho W
          vs. Western Michigan L
          at Toledo L
          at Eastern Michigan L
          vs. Northern Illinois L
          vs. Central Michigan L
          at Ball State L

          Prediction 1-10*, (0-8 MAC)

*ASU plays 11 games for its first FBS season

            Game Preview

For ASU to win- They will have to play a near perfect game of football. There can be no mistakes. QB Jamal Jackson will have to compose himself for this home game. RB Steven Miller also will have to show up. The defense must contain Washington QB Keith Price.

For WSU to win- They have to show up and not let the home crowd to get in their heads. This is nothing more than a tune up game for this team. This will be a chance for Keith Price to get some national attention by having a big game. He might be on track for the Heisman if he does.

Our prediction- The Huskies might have a little bit of trouble but they will run away with it 42 to 14.

COACH MOORE'S THOUGHTS ON THE GAME- This should be a good one. We will need to stay sharp on not like Washington pull away. They have a good offense. While they have the better athletes, we have the home town crowd behind us.

                  Appalachian State Outclassed

Washington Disposes of App. State 58-21

It isn't exactly surprising, but this loss vs. Washington was not exactly a morale booster for the new to the FBS Appalachian State Mountaineers. App State plays hard, but Washington State scored early and often. The Mountaineers could not get anything going until it was too late. They were down 21-0 in the second, and Washington never looked back en route to a huge victory. App State did score 3 TDs, and did have a good day passing, but multiple interceptions ruined this game for them. They had a Pick 6 in the late game which ruined their chance at a comeback. They also botched 2 onside kicks and gave Washington good field position to start their drives.

Coach Jerry Moore sat down with us to talk about the game Here's the interview:

App State Update: Hey Coach, how's it going? That was a tough loss vs. Washington. What can you say about the game?

Coach Moore: Well, I can say that we had trouble executing. It's embarrassing that we allowed so many points. We have to rebound against Michigan, and upset them again to regain momentum.

App State Update: Who was the player of the game?

Coach Moore: I would say that Jamal Jackson did very well. He made some mistakes but he produced a lot too.

App State Update: Thank you for your time coach.

                  Coach Moore: Thank you.

2 Star Recruit Signs with App. State

We have been sent a notice stating that Jeff Washington, a balanced SS from Roxboro, North Carolina has just signed his National Letter of Intent to sign with Appalachian State University. He is a projected 64 overall, and is considered a gem by the App. State coaching staff. He has 82 speed and might get the start next year.

                        Game Preview

For ASU to win- They will have to play smart and not get caught up in the atmosphere of the Big House. This is the greatest stadium in all of college sports. more than 108,000 crowd in here every week to watch Michigan. App. State is 1-0 vs. Michigan. To become 2-0 vs. Michigan, not being as aggressive in playcalling and just running it down Michigan's throats is the best option.

For Michigan to win- They will have to put aside what happened last time. They have a two year series vs. App. State. They have a very good chance to win both years and improve their record to 2-1 vs. App. State. If they just come out easy and don't make mistakes, they will be all right. Although their National Championship hopes are already pretty much over, they could still have a spot as an at-large potentially, even if they don't win the Big 10. A loss vs. App State would ruin any chance of that happening.

Our prediction- Michigan will come out with a vengeance and destroy App. State 42-21. Maybe App . State will keep it a little closer. But they likely will have a lot of trouble keeping up with Denard Robinson and the rest of Michigan's fast offense, even if they do have a little speed of their own.

COACH MOORE'S THOUGHTS ON THE GAME- We can win this game. We won here before. I talked to Jamal over the weekend. He said that he is focusing all his attention on this game. This is likely our biggest game. If we don't win this game, we will have no national attention for the rest of the year, at least not as a a headline. We have to come out, ignore the raucous Michigan crowd, and WIN. THIS. GAME. I'll see you guys after the game.
