    Stopping the Run

I am getting absolutely shredded against the run. Outside, not so much. But am getting torn a new one, from tackle to tackle. Four man fronts. Three man fronts with insidle blitzes from LB's. Nothing seems to work. I'm playing with an A rated defense, and am getting violated to the tune of close to 7 ypc.

Please, anyone, help me stop (or at least somewhat contain) the run. Any and all tips and suggestions, would be appreciated.

Are you playing on heisman difficulty? Probably need to turn the run defense and tackling sliders up

Make sure you shift your d-line to the strong side of the offense, and cover 3 (and similar zone plays) work really well against the run

Yeah, I play on heisman. I also pinch the d-line (post snap). Nothing really seems to work. The holes are gaping. It doesn't seem to matter the quality of the team I'm playing either.

The play I call the most to stop the run is 4-3 over/under cover 1. I have my best linebacker be a QB spy do he can track te ball and I play as the deep safety. That way you can have up to 9 guys in the box of you want and can stop almost any run.

Put your defensive line on aggressive this helps jump the snap.

Make sure your pinching your D-line.

If all else fails adjust your sliders.

All of the suggestions above are good though I would add that what really helped me was blitzing like a mad man, if I feel like a run is coming I send my entire front 7 plus I'll control a safety an bring him up into the box

Recruit better d lineman, not the goat boys you currently have.

If all else fails, hire Matt Foley motivational speaker.

try doing it before the snap. Also pinching the line is really only good against dives etc. Shifting the line left and right to align with the tight ends or whatever is generally better if you arent sure they are going to try to do a dive or an off tackle of some sort

I'll be in a 5-3-3 against a 1TE set in the last few seconds of a half. The CPU will run a dive and score an 80 yd TD on me (actually happened.) That's why my copy of NCAA 13 will find a new home at the closet GameStop I can find.

It's all about postion, Shift your Line and Linbackers to the side you think the opponents going to run. Sometimes it just takes you to just shift one. Call a blitz, or if you think they are going to pass on that play hot route the LB to blitz.

It basic stuff really just watch which where the QB Hands off the ball an attack that area. Using a plays with a spy helps in the long run as well.

it's a lot more to it than the basics when you are playing a human opponent. your best bet is to try to find the tendencies of that player. i prefer not to do any shifting because a good player gets tipped off from that and just runs to the opposite side. on running downs i go to a man blitz. i dont think there is a sure fire play that stuffs the run like in years past. it can be hit or miss

I've found man works best. Maybe even spotlighting the RB. Dont know if that helps, but it makes me feel better lol.

I have been playing as UCF with the Heisman sliders from this site and can stop the run all day long, stopping the pass however is my weakness
