Hey guys, this is AJ. I'm a Community Manager at EA SPORTS (you may have heard me on the Madden or NCAA Podcasts.) I was gonna hop on and explain what the Ball Hawk mechanic is, since I see some questions.

Basically, it's kind of like the Defensive Assist button (A/X), but for making a play on a ball in the air.

When the ball is in the air, you click onto the defender - hold Y/Triangle - and it will take you to the highest point (aggressive point) and attempt to make a pick.

This does NOT replace the old use of timing your picks by tapping Y, just as defensive assist didn't replace making tackles for yourself. You can still control your player and move him to a spot exactly as you could before. This just helps the people who struggle to get their defensive players in the right spot before attempting a pick. You can still swat the ball with LB/L1.

Hope this helps clarify things a bit.

Will there be a risk reward involved in this mechanic? Someone with low rating could totally whiff???

Awesome!!! I can play as my 49ers in the demo. Hopefully, the game doesnt screw me over when I force Bradshaw to fumble and the referees say he's down even though he's not.

No, a player still has to be within distance to actually make a play on the ball. His ratings still come into play, etc. If the guy is clear across the field he's not going to be able to get all the way over and make a play unrealistically. Like I said, it's just there to help guys who have a hard time getting into position to make a play or time picks.

People that work for gaming companies have color coded OS screen names so they can be recognized. The downside is that they can be recognized, so as Kehlis hinted at earlier, you might prefer the anonymity, lol.

So it takes through all the way through the process... from positioning, to movement, and through the jump?

Or does it just get you in position to where you have to release the button and then tap it again to initiate an attempt to pick it off?

I can't believe we haven't heard of this. I struggle with defenders in pass coverage ... kind of a big deal to me. I'm anxious to see how it performs.

No, you don't have to let go and press the button again. Just hold Y all the way through the play. If you're out of position or too far away to make a play you can still whiff on the play though. It's not going to equal automatic picks. Just helps guys who have a hard time with the left stick get to the right point if they're in position on the field to make a play and have time to do so.

I'd be nice to see this on offense too. I feel like receivers aren't aggressive enough in Madden. I hope your blockers are more aggressive this year as well.

Also I wonder if you can adjust gamespeed in the demo? That would definitely help me out.

No sliders sucks, i hope we can tweak the speed in the demo though. Full commentary, we`ll see! I really have no high hopes when it comes to that!
