I played the game. I played the Demo. Here are my pros and cons:
The Stuff I liked:
Infinity Engine - The on the fly tackling looks good for at least 70-75% of the plays.
CPU - The CPU QB play isn't as bad as it was last year. Then again, I don't know if I was playing on All-Pro or All-Madden.
The things I didn't like:
Play Action Blocking - The blocking is horrendous most of the time on Play Action. Way worse then people thought last year's PA blocking was. The trenches in general were able to almost form a pocket, but the blocking itself wasn't very good. Still can't get that much pressure from DE's.
Strategy Pad - The pre-snap adjustments menu/Strategy Pad either lags too much, it is to unresponsive, or it reacts very slowly.
Total Control Passing - The Total Control Passing isn't very good or comfortable. There are times where I'm flicking the thumbstick left and the pass still goes automatically to the right. There are also times where I want to throw over a LB and the pass seems to sail too much.
Running Animations - The swerving is too effective with fast guys. You already know the rest.
The Counter - The Counter seems too effective to me. I did like three plays in a row, all went for like 15 plus yards.
Player/Coach models - The coaches looked bad imo, and the players just had weird models in general.
Things that weren't good or bad:
The Commentary - It wasn't anywhere near bad, but they often said wrongs things (for example, I throw the ball out of bounds and they say that I threw a bad pass)
The Presentation - The pregame stuff, stat banner overlays, etc. were nice. But the halftime show - if you wanna call it one wasn't there. and the whole NFL flash logo thing in your face takes like 3 seconds which can hurt your shot clock, lol.
VERDICT:
I somewhat liked it, but I didn't really like it. It didn't feel that different. All in all, I would give it a 7.0 out of 10.
