Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
After buying madden every year since its inception, I am done with this game and will no longer buy. I feel they are disloyal to me to screw with all offline franchise options that have been IN THE GAME and are now not available. Roster and schedule control is what I want.
Try test driving one of your friends copy before you give up. It would be sad to miss out without actually trying it.Comment

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
Honestly, doesn't bother me at all. Editing players is not high on my priority list, nor do I can to play any other games besides my own. The interest for me is definitely the ability to act as a GM and make trades that will hopefully improve my team. Personally, all the new features intrigue me far more than the removed editing has disappointed me.Comment

I will not be trying the new game for $60 dollars, the only mode I ever played is offline franchise.I may check out the demo but I will definitely not be purchasing the game so I can try ccm.
I have never heard or read any complaints about the following..
1- the ability to fully edit rosters within franchise.
2- the ability to control several teams in franchise.
3- the ability to play other games on the schedule in franchise.
4- the ability to import a draft class.
All except #4 is available on all other major sports games (I think,if I'm wrong its on most) and all these features have been on Madden for many years. It's not like these were new features that were unpopular and therefore were taken out i.e. vision passing. These are basic features for a modern sports game.
Hey EA don't take out basic, longstanding features that no one ever complains about, seems pretty logical to me.
And I heard the reason these standard features are not included is due to time constraints with implementing a new engine and new "franchise". Well isn't Madden like by far the highest selling sports game and one of the best selling games period, not to mention hyped.Since this is the case a large company like EA has no excuse for not getting basic features in the game.
Rant Over.I will play Madden 12 a bit til next year, and see if these issues are fixed. No biggie but certainly frustrating and bit mind boggling.
Oh I wonder if player editing is gone because of the new XP system and additional XP will be sold as DLC.If this is the case we may never see player editing return, hope I am wrong about that.Comment

Re: Sound Off: Has the 'Closed' Nature of Connected Careers Turned You Away?
having an offline "franchise" is all that matters to me really with this game outside of the gameplay and presentation of the actual game itself. its the only mode I care about. that said, I really liked head coach and the direction they were headed. I like the possibilities long term* with this route of CCM. my only problem is trusting that they will get rosters right for CCM, when last year we didnt get a lot of help for what was a totally broken franchise mode. Im hoping issues like records wiping, went with the old system. Im hoping over time that in year 5 of a franchise, it will eventually be able to recognize this in game. CCM is the right step towards everything people want in a franchise mode.
I hope they add assistant coaches next year, this is something I think is really missing that I really loved in older games. especially taking retired players, turning them into coaches then building them up like in hc 09.
but for now, I can sacrifice the editing, moving peyton hillis from hb to fb, having 100 percent correct rosters going into CCM, correct equipment etc, as long as they get it all right. the draft classes better be right. no major mistakes, no stupid shoulder pads. it all has to be good this time. if so, can deal without full customization til 14.360-Chiefs-)Comment

But on the other hand, Head Coach 09 does not have ANY of those 4 features and it is an amazing football sim.Comment

Couldn't find this answer through forum search and didn't want to start a new CC thread. Simple question really, can we adjust game speed for online connected careers for the whole league? Want to make sure that I can go to at least "Slow" when I get this.Arsenal FC
New England Patriots
Boston Red Sox
Boston CelticsComment

My spirits are up that the game could be fun...but it's still going to rely on if all the editing is 100% savable in Play Now Mode and won't reset to defaults.I'm still playing NCAA 14 and Madden 25...and you know, it's alright.

This is just my opinion, but does editing rosters that big of a deal? If anything, imo, it just ruined the fun for me, whats the point in spending time trading and getting all the best players if someone can just start from the scratch and just make all of their players a god. Now, i know people enjoy being able to do that and if thats how they like to play it, good for you, but for me, it ruins the experience of drafting that one really good player out of the 6th round and him being a beast! I understand where you are coming from when having a feature removed, because i really enjoyed the fantasy draft that is gone, but im sure it will be back next year and this year im sure everything else will still keep me very entertained.Comment
