        Re: Da Astros

Alright, guys. After the corrupting of my Royals season [In which I played every single game up until the last series of September]...I decided to start a new one...with the Astros this time.

I played the first game and lost 4-1. I knew I needed power in this lineup. After having previous success with a free agent in my last franchise, I decided to pick him up for the 'stros. Along with this power pickup, I also decided to sign Roy Oswalt. We needed another pitcher in the rotation to improve our pitching.

My key pickup, though? Russel "The Muscle" Branyan. He's earned that name, in my eyes. Perhaps a lefty may not be what I need at the moment, but his power definitely comes in handy. His contact may not be all there, but that's what I'm here for. I try my best to work the counts and get the ball into the outfield. He definitely succeeds in that.

So far, I'm 1-3. All of them close games. The game in which I won, Branyan hit a homerun to put us on the board. Bottom of the ninth, though? 2 outs. Man on first and second. First pitch from the Rockie's closer is a fat pitch over the plate and it's DEPOSITED into right field by Lowrie, for a game winning 3 run shot.

I must admit, this is definitely a challenge. I'm not trying to convert this team into a powerhouse like I did with the Royals, so like the most of you...I'm trying to keep this realistic.

I don't think I'm deep enough into my season to say who's doing pretty good or who's not producing enough. But I definitely look forward to this.

            Welcome Aboard MauryJohn!

Bogusevic did the ole' great play in the field game winning hit for me in my last game. Robbed a homer in the 3rd, game winning single in the 9th.. so maybe not an immediate reaction or anything, but I'll take it. Especially since that was his 1st or 2nd hit in 3 games with 8 strikeouts haha.

I know it's early in the year. (in my chise), I already have Schafer as my everyday CF. I'm looking to add some mad man speed off the bench. Would going after Campana be a good idea, or no?

                Campana or Rajai Davis.

Two C's for an average Davis. I'd let the Cubbies keep Campana as to stay young.

This got me thinking.. Are there any really fast OF'ers you guys can think of who are good against lefties? I just looked at Davis and he could do the trick for a CF platoon role as well as off days/pinch running. Just wondering of any lefty specialist speed guys..

And actually got injured? Whenever pitchers get hit by a ball, they always stay in for me.... No injury at all...
