Copies of the game start to show up at Ebay/small town stores around a week to 10 days before release. Still a little early IMO.

All the EA game changers all ready have the retail version of Madden 13.

I need to renew my pass but I'll be doing that so I can get the game a few days early and not have to drive 2 hours one way to get it early.

I live in the UK and it gets released on the 31st but last time it came a day early because the site I order from is really good. Hopefully it might come another day early this year to.

I've got a guy who gets me burned copies usually a week ahead of time. Must have the modded 360 of course

Season pass is early enough for me. I used to pay the 100 for early release but for 60 + 25.00= Less than the 100.
I'll have it the weekend before release which is the main reason I always tried to grab early.

I am getting it early, but what I don't understand why do we have to wait til the 28th to get the game when it is already completed, people have retail copies already. I thought they pushed the game back a couple more weeks for more time to work on it? Are they working on a release day patch or something? I don't see why we can't get the game now or by next Tuesday the 21st.

Because releases are also tied to stores ad's etc....
There's a whole big picture involved.
If they tell Walmart, EB, Target etc.. Madden is releasing on "Insert Date Here" and then release it a week early, I doubt the stores who coordinate thier ads etc.. and spent the money and time with the release with other things, would appreciate all that being thrown in the trash.
Just 1 of probably 100 other reasons I'd assume...

Not only that, but the more pre-season games that are on, the more the anticipation builds to want to watch/play NFL. The Madden release usually is just before the beginning of the regular season.

If they knew they were going to be done with the game by now, why set the release date so late.

I think the Madden releases are usually in the second week of August in the past. Idk though, I have not bought this game since Madden 2009.

Marketing.... The closer to the NFL start the better the hype and excitement.
