    Pippen on classic bulls teams?

Does this mean Pippen won't be on the classic bulls rosters from the previous years as well?

How do you expect anyone to know that when the info about him missing was released 6 hours ago?

His likeness is not in 2K13, so yeah that probably goes for the classic bulls teams as well.

I guess they couldn't agree on his nose shape. Pippen is so picky!

            This is what Illmatic said:
My brother has worked in the media licensing business for the last 11 years, and here's how he told me this stuff USUALLY goes down:

The Bulls and the Olympic team rights are separate since the Bulls are a part of the NBA and the Olympic team(s) are organized and ran by the United States Olympic committee. The players are from the NBA but outside of that it has nothing to do with the NBA and/or its player association rules and regulations therefore making it a separate entity and the deals for such a team would be a completely different negotiation since the team itself is not connected to the NBA.

Therefore Pippen could sign off on an agreement to be on the NBA related content such as the Bulls classic teams yet he also has the right to say no to any other uses of his likeness on any non NBA related content. It appears that it's possible all the other players signed off for a particular price which included both NBA and Olympic related content, while Scottie may have wanted a separate side deal for him to be included on the '92 Dream Team.

I don't know if this is exactly what happened, but I do know that my brother told me this is how this stuff works when trying to negotiate deals with clients for use of their work and likeness on the same project that includes more than one companies/organizations being represented on the same project. In the licensing world its called "double dipping".

Re: Pippen on classic bulls teams?

Pippen won't be in 2k13. I was reading on here about the possibility that NBA and FIBA agreements could be separate. And I thought it could of been possible since, according to Owen Good, Barkley was going to be on Dream Team but not a Sixers or Suns team, so I emailed 2K about it. They got back to me and said he would not be on it.

“We continue to have a very positive relationship with Scottie, but were unable to include him in-game this year for a variety of reasons, though we share everyone’s hope that he may one day appear in our game.” -- Jason Argent, VP of Marketing 2K Sports

This stinks for me because I love doing my custom Association with the 91 Bulls. Well, it's either the created Pip or Cliff Levingston. Maybe MJ at the 3 and a small 3-point shooting backcourt of Pax and BJ.

That's horrible in so many ways. It pretty much undermines all the champion Jordan teams, which in turn undermines the legend modes. In addition, Dream Team isn't even complete. This is really 1 step forward, 3 steps back.

Exactly - cant call it the Dream Team with one guy missing.

Good. That clears up the speculation.

This pretty much ruins the Dream Team announcement for me. The greater tragedy however is the outlook on the classic mode which would not include Barkley even if their was one. Classic mode is pretty much pointless without the Bulls, and the Bulls are pretty much pointless without Scottie. I really hope 2K compensated for this in other modes/ areas of the game, because this really is a disappointment.

This Isiah's only chance to be part of the Dream Team. I wonder if he contacted 2K already....

Bulls without Pippen isn't Bulls. That's a shame.

Re: Pippen on classic bulls teams?

Unless maybe 2k has something else up there sleeve? We've already seen all Jordan bulls from 2k11 and 2k12.

Could this be the return of Reggie's pacers? Vince's Raptors? Tmac's magic? Maybe they're going to give us 10-12 other classic teams to fill the void? And maybe 2k is so sure that we can still download Pippen off of 2k share lol it might be a win win if u think about it

I'm curious myself. I don't need as many teams as on last yrs game but I'd like at least as many as in 2k11. I hope something gets worked out.
