Just hope the AI is improved. I have yet to play an EA sports game that i felt challenged rather than cheated. Seriously, the CPU always goes into God Mode at the end of the game? I already see it in the demo. I'm up 13 points going into 4th qtr with possession. No turnovers at all in the game so far. First pass to start the 4th gets picked off in the endzone. Okay, i guess i made a bad read. They haven't been able to move the ball all game, yet they march right down the field and score the TD. Okay, guess they're just playing clutch and made some good plays. Kickoff,I fumble the ball and they return for the TD. WTF!?! ...okay, they got lucky. Return next kickoff and make sure i cover up the ball. I don't get past the 20. Damn, good coverage that time, i guess. Slow and steady, i move into field goal range with a min to go. I need to burn some clock so i run it. Holding penalty called. Dang! Still in FG range though. All good, just gotta get clock running again. Make sure to cover up. I get hit immediately after the handoff and the ball pop out. This is that very moment that i realize i'm being cheated. 1-3 qtrs, great fun. 4th qtr, total letdown and i hate this game. Why's it always turn out this way? 9 outta ten games, stupid crap like this happens, even if i win. Aaaahhhhhh!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I think people are overrating this infinity engine. Lets not look at what it could be in the future, or accept the bugs that comes with a first year iteration, lets put all of that aside and judge it on what it looks now.
Its really buggy sometimes. For instance i hate it when players collide with each other and both individuals fall backwards a couple of feet. It is really awkward looking. The engine kills the immersion when you see guys fall down to the ground and get back up instantly without using their legs. This engine is not amazing in the state it is in right now however i will give them some credit for trying to be ambitious but just touting this infinity engine for what it is now i can say im not impressed.Last edited by PRAY IV M3RCY; 08-15-2012, 10:45 PM.Comment

There is a myth going around that suggest that those who have matured pass the tecmo bowl physics expectations are too high. Who ever said anything about perfection?Comment

More so than BB thats for sure. But overall it's still completely unrealistic. Too many bumper car animations, not enough wrap up animations. Running up the middle with your back is just comical. I remember back in 2k3 they had animations for RBs to put his hands out to guide himself through the hole. 10 years later and Madden still has the same Mario running.
Madden 13 is a good next gen madden game. But thats not saying much, as every single next gen madden has been crap.
The way i see it no one wins when fan boys tell ea they love everything they put out but at the same time no one wins when haters tell them everything they do sucks.
I also dont know how i feel about the GC program anymore they really hyped this IE up and its so far let me down. I wish the community as a whole could get involved.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Some of the strides Madden NFL 13 made (the ones that are actually good like the pre-game cinematic intros and commentary and menu design and total control passing to an extent) are ones that should of been in Madden NFL 06 or 07.
The fact that people are loving EA like as if they've delivered great experiences in the past amuses me, because what we are receiving now really doesn't feel that special to me. Total Control Passing was in 2K5 and Madden NFL 06, presentation was just as good in other games, we had a good post game highlight reel in NFL Fever, good halftime show in old-gen games, something Madden hasn't implemented yet, we've had good physics in previous older games, we've had realistic running animations and movement (PS2 Madden, 2K), realistic throwing motions, individual signature animations, good Franchise modes (Madden 05 and 06 on PS2, 2K5) etc.
I'm not saying they didn't make strides or that the game blows. I just feel that what they are giving isn't that special.Comment

Yeah I agree for the most part. I experienced NFL 2K5 like at age 7 or 8, and I was so freaking stunned and pumped because of how realistic it played compared to the Madden games I had at the time, unlike my bro who liked Madden better at time.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Overall, I enjoyed the demo. The physics actually impressed me, there were just some minor glitches.
Commentary: simply amazing. I love it so far and it's a fresh start from Gus and Collinsworth.
Real-Time Physics: I loved how they implimented it into their system, they kept a good amount of canned animations and built on top of those with physics. I couldn't tell you how many times a guy would get hit and then 2 guys come to pile on the pain!
Gameplay: I felt it was a slight step-up from last years edition but I was concerned about my QB stats...
One game I played in had both Alex Smith and Eli Manning completing 70-80% of their passes, and in another both had percentages in the 30's....
Does anybody else notice an inordinate amount of turnovers? I had 11 in one game I played..Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I do not get why people were assuming the physics engine was going to be flawless..
It makes the game so much better, this and NCAA is night and day.
Yes there are some ugly hiccups but this also the first time EA has used physics for their football games.
They never said it was perfect, and while it is far from it, this is a step in the direction by a longshot.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I just hope they fix players falling over each other for no reason well after the play is over lol it looks funny as heck [in a sad way]. Like I said before if they tighten up some things with this new engine [limiting so much ragdoll effect] this could be a good game"Wisdom is ALWAYS an overmatch for strength"........The Zen MasterComment

If you feel that things shouldn't be added to sports games until they are "100% ready", what sports games do you play? Asking since due to the majority of sports game series releasing every year, just about every new feature in a sports game is a "work in progress".Last edited by Bgamer90; 08-15-2012, 11:04 PM.Comment
