Request for Infinity Engine removal
After play some games using the demo I have decided I would rather have canned animations. We cannot have a true physics engine in football until we are able to control the arms of a defender trying to tackle. Most of the tackles I'm see is people running into each other instead of being arm tackled. Everything just looks like they are in a pinball machine. True physics engine does not work for football.Tags: None -

Re: Request for Infinity Engine removal
I'd much rather have a flawed infinity engine than the old one. Plus they'll fine tune it every year, so by about Madden 15 or 16 it will be great. New engines take time to perfect. I say it's solid for it's first run.Comment

Unless they incorporate the Kinnect in allow you to control a defenders arm, this engine will never work for football. Hockey sure, soccer fine, but football no.Comment

Re: Request for Infinity Engine removal
I can't stand canamations. After playing FIFA 12 for a while I was on board with this 100%
After playing demo, I'm ALL IN with the IE!Moderator

Re: Request for Infinity Engine removal
Hardly, just a matter of refining the tackling behavior. Suggesting an option that would only work on one console isn't a resolution to your problem.Comment

Like someone said above, I rather have a flawed IE than go back to canned animations only. If you want canned animation go buy NCAA Football 13.Comment

Re: Request for Infinity Engine removal
Wow, are you just looking/playing demo or have you seen retail game videos. I ripped on them pretty hard yesterday with the demo, but it's much improved with the retail version.
They won't take out an expensive item for the request of one person, either.Comment

I'm reminded of the Jimmy Fallon commercial where everybody wants more money except for one baby.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Request for Infinity Engine removal
This is why I created a thread yesterday or this morning about bring back Arcade and Exibition modes. Arcade mode (the default game mode) would be what people expect from Madden year after year, things the Madden dev team can do well. And exibition or simulation mode would be almost like a testing ground for new technology like the IE, and other gameplay mechcanics like footplanting, a new blocking system etc.
This way you can please both crowds.
It shouldnt be too hard to do, I mean just activate and deactivate the code depending on what mode you choose.Comment

I decided to look at the falcons/saints video before I posted this. Saw the poor tackling on there too. Of course they are not going to remove a big thing like this that cost a lot of money, but I needed a flashy subject line to get people to read the post. I just think this engine was a bad decision. Players falling all over each other is not my idea as an improvement over previous system.Comment

Madden 12 doesn't have it. Maybe you should give that a try. You might like that game better?Comment

Idk guys, I got a feeling that most of the casual crowd may not like the IE either.Comment

Code is not that easy to turn on and off. This code is the backbone of the game now. This is why I created a thread yesterday or this morning about bring back Arcade and Exibition modes.
