Ok I've been playing Madden since the first one on Sega Genesis. And there has been only 2 that I didn't get. One was 98 when I got Game Day 98, which I thought was better that year and the first 360 version of the game. I'm finaly tired of getting ripped off and I think this is another year of us getting ripped off. I've been playing the demo, and come on really? Its the same game the physics engine is doing nothing for me. For example I ran the ball with 49ers back Kendle Hunter and just tossed a DT! They said that wouldnt happen this year. Then running with Brandon Jacobs I flattened a DT just to be stood up by a FS. I dont care what back you have you should not be able to just run threw a big DT like Haloti Ngata or Casey Hampton. Suction blocking seems to be back. Everyone seems to be on the ground all the time. Guys are tripping and falling all over the place. Guys bound off guys that are not even moving fast! It dosent seem like anyone wraps up on tackles. Everyone is on ice skates. It seem like they put one good thing in just to take out the few good things from the previous year. Game play should top everything In my opiniun and they seem to be more focused on presentation. I even think ncaa took a step back in game play this year. But the game looks great visually and passing is better. Thats just not enough for me. When will EA give us that game that make us say DAMN! and you can't even say any other year of the game or any other company came close. I know it's just a demo so I will get it from game fly to see if it's any better. This is just my opinion.

Has anyone been able to make a throw like Eli did in the Super Bowl? Or make any back shoulder passes?

Not sure if it is my PS3 or what but the between play replays can be very jerky. Also, takes forever to get to the next play...you have to hit X a few times and it seems slow to respond.

It delivers fun and that's why I game.
Going to mess more with the speed threshhold and just basically practice while waiting for release and the start of the 3SD league.
I don't know where all this "anything can happen" talk is coming from, because I don't feel that in the least bit. I feel this game is just as pre determined as ever, with money plays being nearly unstoppable by the CPU, and the CPU still being able to do things at will if they choose to.

Its the same as last year in terms of money plays - the CPU can't stop slant patterns, and I can put up 400 yards a game on the 5 minute demo with Alex Smith just doing slants and drags to Michael Crabtree all game. Power O and stretch runs with Frank Gore are still virtually unstoppable. Oh, and this is all on All Madden.

Its the same ol' same ol' of calling plays to exploit the AI, not actually gameplanning to outsmart your opponent. I don't know where this "anything can happen" comes from, cuz its certainly not a part of my experience.

Isn't there like the unlocked free gold weekend thing happening this weekend? Look into that and you should be able to download the demo after your apply the free gold.

The ice skating kinda goes away of you set the game speed to "slow" or "very slow".

Decided to give the demo another shot, this time with the Skins vs Seahawks. I played with some sliders, slowed the speed down and set things up how i felt needed and still did not enjoy the game. It all comes down to 2 things, #1 the players models and #2 player movement. The players don't have realistic body types and as a result it takes away for an authentic look. And the way the players move, running animations, tackles, blocking, etc. is just so unnatural looking. If they could get realistic player movement then it makes the blocking look better, opens up holes, make the infinity engine actually work, gives you beautiful catches because they look realistic.

Look at the way The Show and NBA 2k get down realistic player models and authentic player movement. When an outfielder makes a catch on the run he runs an extra 5 steps to slow down, he doesn't just stop unless he hits the wall. Until they fix the look of the players and the way they move (which most likely won't be till the next wave of systems), the game will never have that authentic look that games like MLB the Show and NBA 2k are able to achieve.

the guys tripping over one another is embarassing. It makes the game comical. That's old system stuff. That shouldn't be happening near the end of the 360/Ps3 cycles.

I'm not feeling players reacting like "crash test dummies" when being tackled. And the foot planting needs a lot of work.

I have to say I am baffled by the people who dislike the Infinity engine. I started playing Madden with the first Genesis version, 91 I believe. So I have been waiting for this kind of player interaction in Madden for over twenty years now. No it isn't perfect, but it is sooo much better than canned animations repeated over and over during the course of the game. My guess is the people that are ripping it apart are probably younger guys for the most part. Remember this is just the first step towards a more realistic game. Seeing things like a neck and torso bend forward as the pile pushes against them, or tripping on a leg as they run through the hole and stumbling to regain their footing is a thing of beauty to my eyes. I do understand the tripping/flopping post play can be jarring sometimes, but the alternative doesn't come close to outweighing that small negative. Just my opinion of course, but I absolutely love the IE. Now, if we can just get the OL/DL interaction cleaned up.

This. My first experience was on Normal speed and I thought the game was absolutely awful. Went back and tried again on slow and very slow and it was better but the things brought up in this post still bothered me as well. I just can't get into this game.

Great game love the animations although they same a little glitchy.. kickoffs are easier as stated by someone.. LOTS OF BROKEN TACKLES? i think thats a concern.. graphics are great even though coaches look like hunchbacks with no necks...
